Reader has been drinking. Established relationship. Jealousy.
Joel rolls his eyes, wondering again what the hell is in the air tonight. He’s glad Sarah has already gone to bed, although she would probably be snickering at the scene. “Babe, maybe you should slow down.” He grunts swiping the beer bottle that he had been nursing and tossing it into the trash.
“Baby, it’s game day,” you protest with a giggle, even though you know he’s probably right. You made your sangria much stronger than usual and you’ve had more than a few cups while hanging out with his friends.
“Yeah it is.” You’re having fun, which is something that he would normally never deny you. Although it seems like you’ve gotten a little….boisterous in the last half hour. “How about we get a sandwich?” He suggests, thinking the bread would be good to help counteract the wine sloshing around in your stomach.
"But we have so many snacks!" The remnants of a chip and veggies and dip plate, the garnishes from a pile of wings, and the last two cookies from the batch Tommy baked are all out on the counter around you, but none of it constitutes actual eating.
He snorts, shaking his head at your wild flailing as you gesture around the counter and miss when you go to grab a chip. “Yep, sandwich.” He grunts to himself, turning around to grab the loaf of bread off the counter. “Or a wrap?”
"Can you be my wrap?" Alright, so you might be a bit tipsy. If the intense giggling from your silly joke is any indication. That doesn't mean you don't want to take advantage of the fact that you're the only two people in the kitchen right now to snuggle up with your boyfriend.
That makes him laugh, rolling his eyes at your antics and he turns to press his lips to your forehead. “You’re drunk.” He accuses fondly.
"Not totally," you protest, pouting at him as deeply as possible.
“Totally.” Joel laughs, leaning in and squashing your lips between his fingers playfully until you pull back. “Eat a wrap then you can have a glass of water.”
"And a kiss." Tacking that onto the end with a grin, you pull your arms around him so he can't pull away to do anything – let alone make a wrap or get a glass of water.
“And a kiss.” If you hadn’t almost started a fight, your possessiveness might be cute. Amusing even. But you had almost been ready to throw hands and he didn’t need the cops showing up here tonight.
"Oh-kay." The pleasant buzzing in your head and the fact that that bitch Larry Anderson had brought with him isn't in here to eye fuck Joel, combine to put you in a very amenable mood.
“Good.” He pecks your lips and reaches behind you to open the fridge. “Ham, or…ham?” He asks, the fridge slightly bare, but in his defense, he had been buying for the party and not wraps.
You hum, pretending to think really really hard, and realize you've forgotten the question while you were screwing up your face into comical expressions. "Ummm...wine?"
“Jesus.” Joel rolls his eyes and moves to the cabinet beside the fridge. “Water now.” He orders, tone a little sharper than before. He doesn’t want you with a bitch of a hangover tomorrow.
"Don't be mad." A pout overtakes your face immediately, but you lean against the kitchen counter and prepare to take whatever Joel dishes out. Even tipsy you know you probably overdid it earlier. It's not your fault that girl wouldn't take 'no' for an answer.
“I’m not.” He grabs a plastic cup, not even trusting you with a glass one at this point. “I just want you to be well hydrated.”
"Well..." The best you can do is shrug, but you're still pouting. "You sound mad."
“And I always look like an asshole.” Joel reminds you with a small chuckle. “So….?”
"I had to be mean to her." He pulls one of Sarah's plastic cups out of the cupboard and moves back to the fridge to fill it with cold, filtered water. "She was looking at you like you were a piece of meat, baby."
“Doesn’t matter.” He reminds with, turning around to hand the cup to you with a smirk. “I’m yours.”
Joel always takes care of you, and you know that even after two too many glasses of sangria, so you take the water cup dutifully. "I knowww. You're my piece of meat. But she wasn't respecting that and that's not okay."
“You don’t need to worry.” He promises softly, moving back to the fridge. “She doesn’t have anything on you.”
"I trust you," you clarify, dutifully sipping the water that he's gotten for you. Joel's loyalty has never been in question. Not when you were friends, not when you crossed the line into dating, and not now that you're living with him and Sarah. But the sangria had made you feisty and that was that.
“Good.” He chuckles as he slaps together some ham and a thick slice of that Muenster cheese you insist is better than Kraft. “Because you are the one sleeping in my bed, hogging the covers.”
"I keep telling youuuu." The singsong in your voice is interrupted by another drink of water. "We need a king-sized blanket. A big blanket. For us two hogs."
“I just will shiver every night.” He teases, folding the wrap up like a letter and handing it to you to eat. It wasn’t pretty, but he never claimed to be a good cook.
"But we could be warm snuggly burritos!" You insist, which is always the argument you give for why you should get an extra-large blanket for the queen sized bed you share, but this time you take a dramatic bite of the wrap he's made for you to punctuate your point.
“You would just steal all of those covers too.” He reminds you, leaning back against the counter as he eat watches you eat.
Giggling, you hold up one finger, crushing your wrap into an accordioned lump in the process. "One snuggly burrito."
“You might be a little cute when you’re this drunk.” Joel huffs, folding his arms over his chest.
"Baby..." Trying very hard to make your face serious fails spectacularly, and you end up giggling again. "I'm always cute. You said so."
“I did, didn’t I?” He huffs. “Finish eating and we’ll go back out to the party.” He bribes.
“Okayyyyyy.” It doesn’t stop you from leaning into his side though, and Joel lets you snuggle him without protest or question.
You eat the wrap quickly, making Joel think that one of your problems might be that you haven’t eaten today. When you reach for the veggies and dip, he encourages you to eat some of it too, not wanting you to have just the wrap on your stomach. Not having realized you were hungry in the first place, you’ve now eaten an entire meal standing in the kitchen and the pout you give Joel afterward intensifies. “Now I’m sleepy…” you huff, indignant at yourself for daring to be tired during a house party. Even a small one.
He chuckles quietly and pushes off the counter to walk over to where you had drifted away from him. Grazing off the table. Smirking, he bends down and scoops you up, about to carry you upstairs.
The squawk you let out could raise the dead, but he laughs so it ends up in half-hearted huffing and puffing as he carries you up the backstairs. “Put me doooowwwn! I can walk!” Not that you actually want him to, of course. Being manhandled by Joel is a privilege.
He smacks your ass, laughing again when you squeal. “No.” He tells you, continuing to climb the stairs. “You’ll go back out into the living room and fight that girl.”
“She put her tits in your face!” You groan, not bothering to fight as more stairs pass under Joel’s feet. He’s far stronger than you anyway. “Only my tits go in your face.”
You’re possessive when you’re drunk and it’s kind of hot. “I like your tits in my face.” He hums, grabbing your ass this time instead of slapping it. “That’s why I stood up. So she couldn’t do that.”
“And I like your little pancake ass,” you giggle, smacking his ass as he goes. Slinging you over his shoulder was a tactical error on Joel’s part.
“Hey.” Joel’s step falters and he snorts as you start to giggle. “Payback, huh?”
“Yep!” Another bright giggle breaks through as he hits the top step.
“You need to go to bed.” He huffs, shaking his head.
He carries you into the bedroom, only setting you down again when it can be directly on the bed. Before he can step away, though, you reach up to snag the edge of Joel's t-shirt and give him a soft smile. "I love you, baby."
“I love you too.” He promises, leaning back down to kiss you softly. “Lay down, I’ll get you some aspirin and water.”
"Then cuddles?" When you're tipsy – or drunk – it's not hard to turn almost any expression into wide, pleading eyes. In this case, it's the wide and pleading eyes that you know Joel just can't resist.
Joel sighs softly, knowing you are feeling a little vulnerable and he nods. “Fuck ‘em.” He decides. “Tommy can keep their asses in line.” He tells you as he brings the bottle of Advil and the cup of water from the bathroom.
“Cuddles!” Maybe it’s simple of you, but ending any night in Joel’s arms is all you want. All you’ve wanted for years now. The day you went from friends to lovers was a gift, and that gift is just as precious to you now as it was then.

Bitter Exes With Yellowjackets Headcanons! [1]
A/N: I made this as a gift to a friend. It was rushed so I apologize in advance for the mistakes, I couldn't wait to get this done with and shown to them.
Jackie Taylor:
Jackie would be the type of ex who acts like she's over the relationship but she isn't. She'll be butt hurt about it, but would rather die than admit it. Knowing Jackie the way she is, you guys probably broke up for a petty reason.
This girl would be sooo bitter. Expect her to throw these passive-aggressive comments at you that seem like nothing, but oh boy, they are NOT. They're specifically made to get under your skin and throw shade at you - her ex.
Jackie might date someone new just to parade them in front of you and show that she did move on from you. She would take every opportunity to show you just how much she's "thriving" without you.
Shauna Shipman:
With Shauna, she would act like the breakup was nothing to her. Now, you guys could have broken up with each other for many other reasons, but I think it would be mainly because of how closed-off Shauna is to you.
Shauna's bitterness towards you is more about self-blame, she'll be mad at herself (because she knows she's the one who messed up the relationship in the first place) and will project it onto you. Cue her being self-destructive afterward!
There will be this weird thing where Shauna will constantly hover near you. Like, she'd keep her distance as much as possible but never fully disappear from your life. She’d steal glances at you when she thinks you aren't looking, but would quickly avert her gaze if you caught her.
Taissa Turner:
She keeps it cool on the surface, but there is no denying she has a certain coldness towards you now after you guys broke up. The breakup might have hit her harder in ways she didn't expect but she'll refuse to acknowledge that.
Tai is a girl who knows how to control herself, so her bitterness towards you would only come out in moments of frustration when she's really stressed. Like Shauna and Jackie, she'd lowkey throw digs at you. But unlike them, she would never fully engage in an argument with you. She will, however, always make you feel like you weren't enough for her.
You guys most likely broke up because you had different things you wanted in your lives or she ended up being a little controlling and maintaining this image she had of your relationship before causing this huge strain between you guys.
Van Palmer:
Van's humor would probably have been a big part of your relationship. So when you guys broke up, let's just say it became very cutting. There'd be a bitter edge to it now when she makes jokes or comments with you.
Despite the fact you guys broke up, Van would still act pretty friendly with you. Like, she'd still help you if you were in trouble. She'll still have your back when someone tries to give you a hard time. But she'll remind you of why you two ended every time she does.
Unlike Jackie, Shauna, and Tai; she'd cope with the breakup a bit better. Van would probably bring up the old times you guys had when you two were together, either looking back at it or reminding you of what you both had once.
Natalie Scatorccio:
No doubt, your breakup was hella messy; just filled with a bunch of raw emotion and unresolved issues from you two! Nat would NOT hold back on showing you how angry and hurt she is. Out of all the girls, she'd most likely be the one openly bitter with you.
Natalie would have a bunch of intense mood swings around you. One moment, she's all calm and indifferent, but the next? She's picking a fight with you, dragging up old wounds from the past to remind you of how things ended between you two. It's 10 times worse whenever she's been drinking especially.
Despite those, Natalie might still have feelings for you but she probably buried them under her hurt and anger with you. There'd be a part of her that still wants to fix things with you, but she'd be too hurt to admit it. She would still care about you a lot, but she'd try her best not to care about you at all.
Lottie Matthews:
Lottie would be strangely calm with the whole breakup with you. Sure, she'd wonder why and all that, but afterward? She'd be like, at peace with it. Her bitterness with you is less outwardly confrontational like with the other girls, and more passive.
Lottie would be neutral with you. She wouldn't be hostile with you in any way that much, but she'll have this really weird vibe with her that just makes you think she's keeping her true feelings hidden behind a wall. Sure, she's nice to you still, but it seems off.
She might throw small comments at you from time to time, implying that your life is now worse off without her to make you feel guilty for leaving her when she needed you most.
Laura Lee:
Now, it seems almost impossible for her, but I'm inclined to believe Laura Lee would approach her breakup with you from a moral perspective; like it just happened because you weren't aligned with her faith or values etc.
She wouldn't express her bitterness with you outwardly but she certainly would lowkey imply that your relationship with her failed because you weren't on the right path, just quietly being judgmental.
She'd probably view the breakup as something fated by you-know-who and convince herself it was for the best. She might have a little grudge against you but she still will care about you. Her grudge probably wouldn't even last long.
Misty Quigley:
Welp, you certainly fucked up in more ways than one. Misty certainly would take the breakup hardest from the rest of the girls. She'll be the ex who can't let go of you and will constantly try to find ways back into your life.
Misty after you break up with her would do anything to keep tabs on you and will go as far as to sabotage your relationships with other people if she feels like they're trying to get close with you.
She'd try to make you feel guilty every now and then for breaking up with her. What's worse would be her flipping between trying to win you back and wanting to punish you for even leaving her in the first place. So, yikes forever! Good luck to you on that.

PART II
Changbin x reader. (s)
Too Hot To Handle masterlist
Synopsis: You and Changbin become contestants in a reality dating show, Too Hot To Handle. (13,1k words)
Author's note: I planned on posting it yesterday but i got so busy but here it is, hope you enjoy! :)
There are three things Changbin trying to digest at once.
One is that you kissed someone else last night. Two, Lana is not pleased so she doubles the fine as of this moment and that leads to number three, a total of $24,000 has been deducted from the prize fund.
You're following him as he walks to the firepit to have a talk with you, giving you a chance to explain yourself. You take a seat next to him with your legs pulled up and a cushion on your lap.
Changbin can't decide where to start, he's still having a hard time processing everything.
"What happened?"
You're fiddling with the tassel on the cushion, "I was trying to set Rita up with Nico and that just happened," you answer him.
"Do you feel different about me?"
You snort in reaction, probably thinking that he is joking but with the absence of a smiles on his face, you realize that he is being serious.
"No," you immediately deny.
"I know you also like girls," Changbin supports his assumption with a fact.
You stifle a chuckle, "Yeah and I like Rita, but not that way."
Stretching your leg, you put your foot over his leg and tip your head to the side, "You know I only like you," you say with a smile on your face.
Changbin would usually melt at the sight of your smile but not this time. This is not how he wanted to hear you say how you feel about him.
"How do I know for sure when you kissed someone else?"
You subtly roll your eyes to the side then put away the cushion, "The kiss meant nothing. We were just playing," you explained with an exasperated sigh.
This may sound like he's exaggerating things but Changbin doesn't like how you blatantly broke the rules and did it behind him.
"Put yourself in my position," he tells you.
"How would you feel if I kissed someone else and not telling you about it?"
Now that he has put things into perspective, he hopes you understand why he acts this way. It's not only about the kiss, he feels like you have dismissed him as your partner.
"I get what you're saying," you add a nod at the end of the sentence.
Seeing that you're slowly putting a space in between and the glints in your eyes fade with each passing second, he feels like he's the bad man here.
"I'm sorry," you mutter with a sad smile on your face.
The kiss, he can let it slide but the betrayal, he gets a little upset when you could have said something about it last night and he wouldn't have been this upset over a playful kiss.

CHANGBIN: I appreciate that she told me everything and apologized but I feel like I have to play it safe now.

It's been days and you're still on Changbin's naughty step.
You didn't think he would be this mad over a silly kiss, oh well, he didn't think the kiss you did with Rita was silly at all. You don't want to let this go on for too long but also, you don't know how to confront him.
Frankly, if something like this happened, you would have moved on to the next one. Considering that you're locked in and can't go anywhere, you're left with no option but to resolve it like two mature grown-ups.
The problem is you're really bad at confrontation and the way Changbin cautiously acts around you doesn't help.
"Was he mad?" Liam asks as he sits next to you on the side of the pool.
Your foot is playing with the pool water, "Yeah."
"You like him, right?" He asks, tilting his head to the back to let the sun hit his oiled body.
"I do like him," you shortly answer like it isn't obvious enough.
"What you did... I don't think that helps to convince him that," Liam says.
You listen to him only to hear that he says the same thing with Changbin and maybe this is your punishment, constantly reminded that you're the one at fault here.
"Yeah, no shit," you sigh.
Liam chuckles, "You know that, right?"
You lean back with your hands propped behind you, "I know..." you groan.
It's like he hears you're talking about him, Changbin walks out of the bedroom and heads down to the beach.
"Oh, my God! There he is!" You mutter through your gritted teeth at Liam.
"I know," he whispers, clocking him for you.
Not sure if he sees you or not, but your heart is sinking at the sight of him.
Liam starts talking after Changbin is out of sight, "Talk with him, tell him how you feel," he suggests.
It's easier to be said than done and also...
"I'm scared," you honestly share with a nervous laugh.
Liam chuckles again and wipes his sweaty forehead.
"Don't you see how big he is?" You jokingly say.
"Just be honest, be yourself," Liam wisely says and brushes his dark curls to the back.
"Yeah."
Well, you don't want this to continue so it's time to admit that you fucked up and have a talk with him. You don't know how but you'll try.

YOU: I kind of realized that I can't do that to people and like, expect them to stick around.

You're a man on a mission tonight.
Before that, you have to arm yourself well. You borrowed a dress from Sabine and have Rita style your hair, you want to look good, ravishing even.
You're sleeping still with the man but you need a glass of wine to muster up the courage to talk to him.
Changbin is looking fine in a light blue shirt that fits him so well, showcasing his broad shoulders and muscular arms. You get the urge to rip it off of him but you have to hold that thought for now.
Coming up behind him, you link your arm around his and sweetly smile at him, "Can I talk to you?"
He looks over his shoulder at you and slightly nods, "Okay."
Since everyone is out of the house, you pull him to the bedroom to get some privacy, sitting at the end of your shared bed.
You don't talk right away, you give yourself a moment to compose yourself and to also, admire him as he sits close to you.
"I like this on you," you compliment with your hand tugging at the collar of his shirt.
He smiles hearing your words and places his hand on your knee.
"How about me? Do you like what I'm wearing?" You ask, tipping your head to the side and batting your eyelashes at him.
He pinches at the hem of your dress and feels how thin the fabric is, "I like it."
You put your hand on his and lace it together with him, now that you're both relaxed, you can finally talk about it.
"After what happened..." you intently observe his face for any changes of expression to see if it's still a sensitive issue to him.
But you decide to wait until he responds to it.
He turns his head at you, "Yeah?"
You lick your lips before continuing to talk, "Do you feel like you trust me less because of it?"
Changbin inhales air and even with his head facing you, his eyes are nowhere looking at you. He scratches the back of his head and props his hand against the mattress.
"I don't want to say anything. Truthfully, I still don't know what to do about it," he answers.
It seems like he's still processing it and not yet getting to the place where he can just let it go.
You softly shake his hand in yours, "Hey, I'm sorry."
You apologize even though you have said it enough to him but you feel like you need to do it again to prove to him that you want to fix things between you and him.
And if that's not enough, you can prove it in another way.
"You know I wouldn't do it again," you remark with utmost sincerity.
As soon as those words are out of your mouth, he stares at you and perhaps, trying to see how much you mean those words.
"I know," He says, then holds your hand back and gently squeezes at it. He doesn't add anything else to it but sure, it's better than nothing.
"Can I have a hug?" You ask, ignoring the fact of how pathetic you might have sounded.
A smile rises on his face and he opens his arms to welcome you which you waste no time to dive right in. You eagerly throw yourself at him, sending both of you collapsing onto the bed.
Oh, how you missed being in his warm embrace! You never feel this comfortable and safe with anyone but him.
"We barely cuddle lately," you grumble at him with a pout.
"No, I cuddled you," he denies.
"Not enough," you complained and put your arm around his neck.
Changbin turns his head to the side and looks at you, putting away the hair covering your face as you snuggle close to him. Catching him off guard, you sneak a kiss on his cheek.
With his lips only inches away from yours, the temptation to kiss him is getting to you. To tease him and also check if he's up for a kiss, you make smooching sounds at him with your lips puckering at him.
Changbin holds you by the jaw, but instead of kissing you on the lips, he kisses you on the cheek. At that moment, you realize that he's not fully getting over it yet.

YOU: It seems like it's going to take a lot more time and I have to be more patient... [groans]

If there's one thing you should know about Changbin is that he has trust issues and that's why he doesn't want to rush into this.
However, he has to admit that he's been distancing himself from you and not realizing that he tortured himself doing it.
He's still sharing the bed with you but it feels much better when you're cuddling him like this.
The others are also still stretching and gathering their senses on their beds after Lana comes for her morning greeting.
You shift on the bed and lay on your side facing him, "Morning, big man," you croak with your eyes half-shut.
Changbin often wondered how you look this good even when you've just woken up. He tenderly caresses your cheek and his thumb wanders by itself, swiping across your lips.
He may as well touch it, feeling it but keeping it in his mind that he can't do more than that.
All of sudden, you open your mouth and take his thumb into your mouth, tugging it between your teeth.
He knows a way to make you stop and that is by tickling you back. He bites at your neck until you let go of his thumb.
"What are you going to do today?" You ask, slinging your hand around his chest.
"Working out," he answers.
Dragging your hand down his chest, you slip your hand under his t-shirt and pinch at the flesh on his abdomen.
"If you keep working out, you'll get bigger," you mumble.
"And that's a problem to you?"
"If you get too big, I won't be able to hug you anymore," you pout.
He pulls you close and holds the side of your face, "Then I'll be the one hugging you," he simply resolves.
You get quiet but overlap his body with yours, "Play with me today."
This is the side that he rarely encounters in you that makes him feel needed, that he is not just some guy you kiss and have fun with.
In fact, Changbin secretly wishes that you're clingy to him, not the other way around.
He puts his arm around you, resting it on the arch of your back as he asks, "What are we going to play?"
You pursed your lips as you thought of an answer, "Uhm... we can get naked and stare at each other's body," you giggle at the end of your words.
You sure know how to keep him amused but that sounds like a dangerous game to play and it's only 8 in the morning. You seem to know that he would skip on it as you kiss him on the cheek before getting up from the bed.
The weather is nice today too and Changbin is having a productive day, as in he manages to finish his workout routine as planned.
It was a good day, well, until Lana assembled everyone in the cabana.
Changbin makes space on the seat next to him the moment he sees you coming and you plop down the sofa with your feet up.
"What's going on, guys?" Sabine asks everyone.
"You tell us," Liam teasingly says to her.
The cone lights up after everyone gathered around her and Changbin's eyebrow perks up at the sound of the way too familiar melodic chime.
"Here we go..." Shane mutters with a nervous sigh.
Even though he didn't do any rule breaks, Changbin still gets nervous whenever Lana starts talking because there's a big chance that she'll come with a piece of bad news.
"To further aid your personal growth, you must learn to resist your urges," Lana starts with a cryptic message.
Changbin doesn't like the sound of it and it instantly puts him on high alert. He notices that everyone else seems to be holding their breath as well.
"So, I am putting some of you to the test."
He is yet can't tell if that's good or bad, either way, hearing the word test, he knows that it's not going to be easy.
"I have arranged two dates..."
"Ooh... dates," Sabine coos in excitement and sparkling eyes.
"Both with new arrivals."
He hears you snicker next to him and he feels a little uneasy with it. When he looks around though, everyone is looking excited for it. New arrivals mean these people are not yet conditioned with retreat rules so yeah, Changbin can smell troubles.
"The first new arrival is... Jax," Lana announces.
The name attracts interest from everyone but the males specifically. While the girls... he sees that Sabine looks a little worried.
"I have allowed the new arrivals to select who they want to ask out on their dates," Lana further informs.
No, wait, Sabine is right to be worried.
Changbin catches you glancing at him before looking away and he wonders if you're worried too.
"Jax has chosen..."
Everyone may not be losing money today but that doesn't keep the tension from keep on building in the cabana.
"Oliver."
Sabine gasps at the mention of his name and nods, she has no power to stop him since Lana is the one running the retreat.
"You seem so happy, Ollie," Liam teases him.
Oliver remains coy about it, then a grin blooms on his face, "It is what it is... I guess," he says with a nonchalant shrug.
Changbin feels bad for Sabine because Oliver seems like the type who would jump ship when the opportunity presents itself.
However, Lana is not done talking yet.
"And date number two will be with... Gareth."
The announcement is being welcomed well by the girls and he turns his head to see you remaining calm about it.
"Well, well, well..." Sabine sighs, probably hoping that he'll pick her to get back at Oliver.
"He's also been allowed to choose his partner for this afternoon date."
You look at him and smile, "Are you nervous?"
Changbin subtly shrugs in answer but deep down, he's nervous that you'd get chosen.
"Gareth has chosen..."

CHANGBIN: We have been kind of, like, going up and down so I am worried... I'm worried that her head will turn a little bit.

Can't tell if your manifestation works or Lana reads your intention but you're surprised when you hear your name being called. So this new guy, Gareth, has chosen you to go on a date with him?
You scoff and look at Changbin to see his reaction, he's rather a bit aghast.
"I would be worried," you tell him.
Realizing that sounded like he would mistaken it for something else, you correct yourself.
"I mean, I would be worried if I were you."
This is what you need. This is a good opportunity for you to show him that you're into him and you're going to prove him that.
"You may leave now to get ready for your dates," Lana orders you and Oliver to leave the cabana.
You hope you get more than just his silence but Changbin remains calm about this whole thing. You kiss his cheek before getting up from the sofa.
You wait for Oliver to walk over to you so the two of you can leave together.
As Oliver gets to your side, you like your arm with his and say, "We got it, Ollie!"
"Yeah," Oliver half-heartedly says.
You turn to everyone to say bye and just before you turn to leave, Rita teasingly shouts, "Don't cost us more money, Miss Kissy!"
Getting dressed for the date inexplicably excites you and Oliver keeps on laughing hearing you squealing while you're doing your make-up.
"Are you excited?" He asks while he's fixing his hair in front of the mirror.
"Yeah," you answer without looking at him.
Oliver spins on his feet to look at you, "This is weird for me because I've never been with a girl long—"
Lana chimes in, interrupting Oliver's talk, and both of your heads turn in the direction of the cone sitting in the corner of the dressing room.
"What's up, Lana? Did Gareth cancel?" You jokingly ask.
"I hope you're both looking forward to your dates his afternoon," Lana says.
Oliver sits on the chair across from yours to hear what Lana has to say next.
"To further assess how you deal with temptation, I have not told the new arrivals that they are guests at Too Hot To Handle."
You gasp in surprise, "Lana, you naughty!"
"You must decide at what point you tell them," Lana finishes.
You and Oliver exchange a horrified look on your faces, realizing that this is not just a date, this is a test, for real.
"Oh, fuck..." Oliver quietly mutters.
That changes everything. That means that they will not hold back from breaking the rules because they don't know the rules even exist in the first place.
You lean back on your chair and sigh, "I think the best strategy is to tell them right away," you comment.
Oliver looks at you and smirks, "But then they won't try to kiss us," he innocently says.
There's no surprise that Oliver is not afraid to play with fire and as someone familiar with the game, you can relate to that.
"Yeah, that's not fun," you agree while nervously chuckling.
Oliver walks over to the mirror once again to check on his hair again. He brushes his dirty blond hair to the back and lets a few strands fall over his face.
"What I got myself into?" Oliver sighs.
When it's time to leave, Oliver gives you a quick hug before parting ways to go to your respective dates.
"Good luck out there," he says to you.
"Be good!" You reply with a way to him but at the same time, as a reminder to yourself.

YOU: I hope this Gareth guy is ugly... [clasps hands together] Please be ugly! [A moment later] I know he won't be ugly [sighs]

Lucky that you're wearing sandals because the walk to get to where date is quite far.
Despite feeling pressured to break the news to the new guest, you're also feeling good. The plan is to enjoy it and have fun, you want to flirt because you feel like making Changbin sweat a little.
There he is, Gareth, sitting on the picnic mat and basking in the pale afternoon sun.
Hearing you coming his way, he turns his head and cracks a smile when your eyes meet. He scrambles to get up and hug you.
"Hi, hello," he says to you with a strong British accent.
He then offers his hand to help you sit on the space next to him on the picnic mat.
It's only been a week in the retreat yet you're already forgetting how to be on a date. He looks at you and you look at him, checking each other out in silence.
Gareth is a whole lot of attractive. He's tall, probably six feet two, and with his shirt left open, you can see the sculpted abs. Other than that, he has beautiful eyes.
Lana is doing an impressive job because she's testing you with such an attractive man. Not sure about Gareth, he's been quiet from the moment you met and you start to wonder if he has second thoughts about choosing you.
After a moment, he hands you a glass and fills it with bubbly wine.
"You're more beautiful in person," he suddenly says.
You scoff and without you realizing it, it turns into a shy smile, "Really?"
He licks his lips after sipping his drink, "Yeah, you're beautiful."
"Thank you, Gareth," you thank him and sip your drink.
You take a moment to look at him, finding something on him you can compliment even though every part of his body is praiseworthy.
The sunlight hits him right on the eyes yet it only makes them beautiful, mesmerizing.
"You have beautiful eyes," you return the compliment with a smile.
"Thank you!"
"Is it uh... Brown?" You wildly guess.
"Why don't you see for yourself?" He dares you with a sly grin painted on his face.
Without hesitating, you lean in close to see him up close until you can see yourself in his eyes. Gareth stays still so you can study his eye color.
"It's uh..." You find it hard to focus when he's intensely staring back into your eyes, "Green?"
Gareth doesn't say anything but smiles, "Are you even looking at my eyes?"
You back away and burst into laughter in reaction, flustered for getting caught looking at anywhere other than his eyes.
"Should we have a toast?" He suggests with his glass already raised.
You do the same, raising your glass in the air, "To what?"
"To the nicest date ever," he answers with a seductive smile.
With Gareth, you feel like you're getting the attention you wanted to get from Changbin and you start to worry that your head is about to turn.
You clink your glass with him and repeat his words, "The nicest date ever."

YOU: Gareth is tall, he's nice, he's a handsome man. What's not to like about him?

It's a fact that you have never been on a date this nice before with the beautiful sea view and the sun slowly setting, dipping lower and lower into the horizon.
The date is going to end soon and you feel bad the longer you keep the news from him, it's time.
To prepare both of you, you refill your glasses with more wine and initiate one last toast.
"Hey, Gareth," you call him.
He swallows his drink before answering your call, "Yes?"
You bite into a strawberry and continue talking, "Do you consider yourself a player?"
Gareth laughs, probably at how straightforward your question is and he can't decide how he's going to answer it.
"Well, uh..." he parts open his shirt to get some air or to show off his body, either way, you're liking it.
"Not really," he doubtfully answers with a suppressed grin.
You sip your drink before asking him the next question, "Are you a sexual person?"
Gareth thinks you're being flirty asking him this question and you feel bad playing with him just to break him down at the end.
He nods and confidently says, "Yeah, I think I am."
You bite your lips, having fun with the knowledge you have that he's not yet known. You tip your head to the side, sending all of your hair falling onto one side of your shoulder.
"Do you think you could go a week without sex?"
His eyebrow raises in surprise, "A week?"
"Yeah."
"It's possible but I'd struggle, hard," he answers with a smile that slightly turns into a nervous one.
You look at him and look into his green eyes, for a second, not wanting to tell him about Lana and her rules.
"Uhm... well, I hate to tell you this," you begin and take another sip of wine.
His eyes are wavering as he looks at you, "What?"
"But we can't have sex in there," you make a head gesture towards the villa.
"Sorry? What?" He asks with eyes widening in utter shock.
And Gareth hasn't heard the worst part yet, "We can't even masturbate," you add.
He closes his eyes for a moment to take everything in and shakes his head, "What?"
"This is Too Hot To Handle," you finally break the news to him with an apologetic smile.
It feels not right to enjoy seeing him suffer but you can't help it, you must have looked like it when Lana popped out of the box that day.
His hand flies to his face, his fingers are pinching the bridge of his nose as he tries to make sense of it all.
"They didn't—" he keeps opening his mouth to speak and abruptly stops in the middle.
"I know," you say, letting him know that you went through the same thing and know exactly how he feels right now.
Gareth drains his wine and puts away his glass, his hair is tousled from the wind constantly blowing at it.
"I was away traveling for months so I–I don't know..." he stammers as he explains himself.
You do feel bad for him but at least, he's not the only one going through it, you've been at it for a week now.
He then looks at you with his index finger pointed at you then at him, "So... we can't...?" His eyes are saying the words that you know what it stands for.
You shake your head, "No," you meekly say.
"Don't get me wrong, it's because I'm seeing someone in there," you add, not letting him get the wrong idea.
Gareth brushes his dark blond hair to the back, making it messier than before, groaning at the newly acquired information.
"I appreciate it that you're telling me that," he says as he refills his glass with more wine.

YOU: The date is nice, Gareth is nice but honestly, I was thinking of Changbin the whole time I was there.

Back in the villa, Changbin is scared, shitless.
He keeps looking at where you're having the date with this new guy but he can't see much with how far you are plus the sky that is getting darker.
He's been holding his drink but not drinking it, he's too nervous to try to relax.
"They're not back yet?" Nico asks as he sits on the lounger.
Changbin shakes his head and keeps his eyes on the top of the stairs, the only access back from the beach.
"Do you think she kissed him?" He innocently asks.
"That would be wild if she did," Nico gives his opinion then quietly sips his drink.
Rita comes to sit behind Nico, putting her arms around him, and notices the apparent horror on Changbin's face.
"I didn't expect you'd be genuinely this worried," She says to him.
He doesn't know why but he feels offended by what she said, "What's that supposed to mean?"
Nico hurriedly holds Rita to stop her from talking, he knows Changbin is being extra sensitive at this moment so it's best to not poke around him.
Almost half an hour later, you are finally back with the new guy, and your arm is linked with him. He also notices the smile on your face as you introduce him to the girls.
Changbin is not pleased with what he sees but he knows he should keep his composure, he shouldn't conclude without hearing from you first.
"Gareth," the new guy introduces himself to him.
Changbin has this belief that it's not about looks but looking at Gareth, it's impossible to not feel the slightest bit intimidated.
The boys take him for a chat at the cabana and questions asked at the new guy, the basic questions until Shane brings up the date.
"So how was the date?"
Knowing that he's not good at faking his facial expression, Changbin gulps as much air as he can and hopes it's enough to calm him.
Gareth brightly smiles before answering, "I think we had a good time," he answers.
Liam glances at Changbin to check on him, "Yeah?"
"She was great and the setting was beautiful, probably the most romantic date I ever had," Gareth adds and he should consider himself lucky for not knowing that he's talking right next to the man you're seeing.

CHANGBIN: He can have those drinks, that romantic date but don't even think that he can take her from me [shakes head]

Changbin is chatting with Shane when all of a sudden, he stops listening to him. He looks past his shoulder to someone behind him.
"Looking for me, babe?" Shane jokingly asks you.
You laugh at him and put your hand on Changbin's shoulder, "Can you give us a minute, babe?" You joke back at him.
"Sure thing, babe," Shane kindly left so the two of you could talk.
Changbin sees that you're already changed into a new dress and your lips are painted with a fresh coat of lipstick. As you sit next to him on the sofa, you slightly turn your body to face him then place a hand on his knee.
"Hi," you say with a sweet smile.
He looks back at you and he knows that you're here to have a good time, to enjoy yourself and there's a possibility that you might jump ships too but Changbin needs an answer from you about whether he should continue this or not, or do you have anything to tell him.
Changbin needs to know right now.
"So... how was the date?" He begins with an easy question.
"It was good."
You're looking chipper and radiant, it's something that he hasn't seen in these past few days.
"What did you guys do?"
"We chatted, had a few glasses of champagne... we got to know each other," you nonchalantly answer.
None of your answers are pleasing him but he's willing to continue with the interrogation.
"What do you think of him?"
You inhale air before talking, "He is so nice."
That's another answer that displeases him.
"And he was a little flirty to me," you tell him with a low chuckle.
Changbin immediately scoffs at that, "Of course, he was," he says, looking away to see the fire swaying along to the gust of wind.
"To be honest, I got a little flirty on him too," you admit.
He looks down at his lap and sees that your fingers are playing with the lint on the ripped part of his jeans. He doesn't want to hear what are you going to say next, he even regrets asking you about it in the first place.
"Then I told him about you," you suddenly add.
He looks up and sees you smiling at him, "yeah?"
"Yeah," you shortly replied.
You tip your head to the side and gaze into his eyes, "I told him that I'm seeing someone here," you confess.
Scratch his earlier remarks about regrets, Changbin's only regret now is for doubting you. He can't believe it still but now he knows he can continue with you.
Truthfully, Changbin doesn't even know how he would start things over with someone new.
"Were you worried I was going to do something?" You meekly ask.
Changbin hates to be seen as this pathetic guy but he can't lie about this, not when it tells you how much he likes you.
"Every second of it... it was just awful," he emphasizes it with a horrified look on his face.
Changbin has come to realize how much he likes you and he feels that it's safe for him to let you know that. Also, how would you know if he didn't tell you verbally?
"This process brought out a lot of emotions in me that I didn't even know I had," he endearingly shares as he puts his hand on yours.
You nod and say, "Yeah, me too."
Changbin slips his fingers between yours and holds your hand, "Come here," he says.
You scoot closer and then crawl toward him to sit in the space between his legs. You waste no time to rest your head on his chest and let out a delightful sigh as he puts his arms around you.
"Missed me?"
"A lot," he answers without a beat.
He tightens his arms around you along with a soft kiss on your neck, he then drags his mouth close to your ear and whispers, "I'm happy."

The new girl, Jax, is one gorgeous girl and there's no denying it, the other boys were practically drooling when they first saw her.
Changbin would understand if you feel a bit intimidated by her presence, just like how Gareth did to him. But you're not one to worry, the one who should be worried is Sabine because Changbin catches Jax and Oliver stealing glances at each other just now.
"Did you shower?" You ask as you nuzzle your head into his neck.
"Mmh," Changbin hums his answer.
You plant your nose in his neck and inhale his scent, humming as you snuggle close to him. He does the same, planting his nose in your shoulder only to playfully bite at it.
Instead of scolding him, you're giggling in his neck.
"I like it," you suddenly say.
"What?"
You drag your hand down his chest and lift the fabric to peek inside the sleeveless white top he's wearing.
"I like it more if you take it off," you whisper to him.
After what happened, Changbin realizes how much he likes you and when he likes someone, he will do anything for that person.
"Just say you want me to take it off," he says with a laugh.
"Well, it's up to you..." you coyly say with a flirty smile on your face.
Changbin sits on the bed and pulls his top over his head, putting the piece of clothing on the bedside table afterward.
"Mmh... yeah," you slyly smile as he lays down next to you.
The lights are out and the low chatter in the room dies down not long after but in the dark, that's when things happen.
You keep clinging to his body with your hands freely roaming around his body, feeling his muscles and squeezing at it. Your lips are pressing on the sensitive skin on his neck once in a while.
Then all of sudden, you get up to straddle him, and against the darkness of the room, he sees you taking your top off.
"What are you doing?" He keeps his voice low to not wake everyone else who's sleeping in the room.
Your half-naked body is hovering above him with mere inches between your faces, "What? I'm making it fair for us," you say with a kiss on his jaw.
It doesn't take a genius to know what you're doing. You're kissing his neck and chest with your nipples lightly grazing his bare chest, making the goosebumps on his arm rise.
Changbin allows you for that but when your lips are getting close to his lips, he immediately stops you by looking away.
Yet you continue your trail of kisses down his jaw, then you whisper into his air, "How about a kiss?"
This is a test for him and it's a difficult one. A part of him is dying to give you whatever it is you want but the other part, and unfortunately, the most stubborn part of him demands him to keep to his principle.
A kiss costs $6,000 and Changbin could bear the consequence of losing that much money but the problem is it's not just his money, it's everyone's.
He endearingly brushes your hair to the back and holds your face, "We can't."
It seems like you have expected that answer, "I know," you softly sigh.
You roll to the side to lay back on your side of the bed, clutching at the duvet as you groan, "I'm so horny..."
You best believe that it's not easy for him to say no to you, not when his head is full of filthy things he wants to do to you.
As a way to console you, he presses a long kiss on your cheek and neck. You suddenly pull him by the shoulder, hard enough to send him toppled on top of you.
"Put your whole body on me," you mutter.
"I'm heavy," he tells you like it isn't obvious enough.
You wrap your legs around him, forcing him to put his whole weight on you. Changbin quickly props an elbow against the mattress to spare a little space.
With both of your bodies pressed against each other, he can feel you differently, in an inexplicably intimate way.
Against the darkness that lingers in the room, he still can see your eyes gleaming as you stare at him as he stares into your eyes.
He swipes your lips with his thumb and for a split second, tempted to kiss it.
"You can kiss it you know," your voice is so low that it almost sounds like a whisper.
Once again, his stubborn part wins and he kisses you on the forehead instead.
"Goodnight," he sweetly speaks into your ear.
Without warning, you pull him closer until he collapses on top of you and keeps him close with your arms locked around him.
"Are you okay?" He quickly checks on you.
You bury your head in the crook of his neck and mumble, "You can crush me to death for all I care."
That makes him laugh in amusement, Changbin plants another kiss on the top of your head and gently pats at it.

CHANGBIN: The sexual tension is... unbearable [groans] but I want to do this right.

It's only afternoon but Sabine is already looking done with the day.
You respect people and their boundaries so you would usually wait for people to come to you first and they would when they're ready to talk.
However, the silence that hangs in the air once she steps into the dressing room is suffocating. You decide to, at least, check on her, making sure she's okay.
"Sabine, babe," you call as you rummage through your make-up pouch.
"You're way too pretty to have frown lines," you tell her with a smile.
Sabine aggressively reclines on her chair then lets out a long sigh, sending her long hair dangling down the back and almost touching the floor.
"You okay?" You ask her as you continue doing your make-up.
"I don't know," she sighs again.
She picks up a hairbrush next but does nothing with it, she's holding it in her hand as she continues talking, "It's Oliver."
It must be about the date and you knew Oliver screwed up, you could tell from the moment he got chosen for the date. Also, it's not hard to read a guy like Oliver, he's a player and a few days in the retreat won't instantly change that. Not that it's impossible, but it takes time to get the game out of a player.
"What happened?" You ask even though you guessed the gist of it in your head.
Sabine looks straight ahead and starts talking, "He went on a date yesterday made me realize that my feelings for him are genuine," she explains.
You nod to show her that you're intently listening to her even though you're busy doing your eyebrows, "Yeah."
She then draws a long breath to continue talking and combing her hair with her fingers, "But I know his type, I know how good they are at lying so yeah, I don't fully trust him so I asked Jax about the date."
You didn't know why you thought she was that naive. Sabine knows the kind of guy she's with.
"And what she said?"
Sabine puts her feet up on her chair and hugs them close to her chest, "She said that he went in for a kiss."
It's predictable but it's surprising to hear your assumption is right.
You pause doing your make-up and gasp, "What?"
Sabine is drawing circles on her knee with her finger as she continues talking, "Oliver didn't kiss her but he said it's because he didn't want to lose money..."
She takes a shaky breath and puts all of her hair on one shoulder, "And not because of me, he didn't even mention me at all."
You put down everything you're holding and put all of your attention on her, "Oh, no... babe," you coo.
"I like him for real because..." she pauses to gulp air and holding in her tears
"Now I'm genuinely hurt," her voice breaks at the end of the sentence.
You get up from your chair to come and hug her, putting your arms around her to comfort her before getting back to your chair.
"I think you should confront him about it. Obviously, you don't want to waste time on him if he doesn't want the same thing," you suggest, hoping that it would help her know what to do next.
Sabine sniffles and puts her feet down, she pulls her chair close to the table, leaning close to the mirror to fix her make-up.
"I'll take to him once they're back from the workshop," she says, now picking up her brush to add blush to her cheeks.
You always take Sabine as this cool girl who likes to make boys cry but at this moment, she looks fragile and insecure, she's just like any other girl and so are you.

YOU: I just knew that Oliver would mess up but I didn't think he would really do that to Sabine.

Lana is aware that these past few days have been tense for everyone and with the arrival of two new guests, she throws a party in the villa tonight.
Dressing up feels useless now that Changbin has no intention of doing anything to you and that somehow affects your mood, you don't feel like partying tonight.
You choose to sit this one down with him and quietly sip your wine while watching everyone else dancing to the music blasting around the villa.
Eventually, Nico and Rita join you in the firepit and you couldn't be more grateful that your matchmaking is a huge success.
"Nico, I'm impressed you're not all over the new girl," you jokingly say.
Rita looks at him, trying to intimidate him while giggling close to his face, "You can be honest," she tells him.
Nico shakes his head in false terror, "Nah, I don't want to get in trouble," he says.
Rita smiles in approval as Nico puts his arm around her, pulling her closer to his side even though there's no space left between them.
"Changbin, you couldn't possibly still be mad about our kiss, right?" Rita jokingly asks.
You turn to look at Changbin, wanting to see how he reacts to that question. He's been giving you vague signs whether he is still holding a grudge about it or not.
"Mad? Who got mad?" Changbin jokes back with a grin.
Rita flashes you a questioning glance then she turns to look at him, "Then how about you guys kiss and then we'll kiss?"
"I'm in!" Nico excitedly welcomed that idea.
You turn your head at Changbin and put the ball in his court, leaning close to his face, puckering your lips to tease him.
"Are you scared?" Rita teases him.
"I'm not," Changbin replies with a half smirk.
You take his chin and turn his head to look at you, "Kiss me then," you dare him.
Since he's not doing anything, you keep leaning in closer and closer and Changbin is backing away to avoid you. You stop before you embarrass yourself
"See? He pulls away first," you tell Rita with a shrug.

YOU: I am already sexually frustrated here and now it seems like I'm going to be touch-deprived as well [sighs]

Lana is the worst party host.
She abruptly stops the party and calls everyone to the cabana, it's not a good sign when she has to get in the middle of the party.
Changbin prepares himself for whatever is about to come out of that cone's mouth and his heart drops when he hears that anxiety-inducing chime.
"Did anyone break the rules?" Liam asks around.
Sabine crosses her arms and leans back, "I don't know about anyone else but I'm celibate."
Sabine is looking so upset about something when she says it and Changbin notices that Oliver has been eerily quiet the whole night.
"I stressed the importance of being committed to my process and a few people are falling short on that goal," Lana begins
Changbin can tell right away that something bad is going to happen tonight and he's not ready. He fears that it's going to happen to him or worse, you.
"It's clear that I need to streamline the group and two of you must leave the retreat tonight," Lana announces.
Everyone is gasping in shock, the tension is rising and no one is safe at this point. It's like Changbin's fears manifested into reality and he's dreading it, he doesn't want to leave.
He sees that you're looking calm but he notices your hands are clasped together on your lap, you must be stressed inside, considering that you broke the rules multiple times.
"The first person to leave the retreat is..."

CHANGBIN: I don't like this at all.

No one wants to hear what Lana is going to say but there's no avoiding it, this is her retreat, her rules, she's the one in control here.
"Niamh."
Niamh seems to have sensed that it's her, she smiles the second she hears her name and tears start rolling down her cheeks.
"Oh!" A broken gasp escapes Rita's mouth as she turns to the side to hug her.
Changbin didn't get to know Niamh well but she's been a complete shut-in and doesn't seem like she wants to build a connection at all. He believes the reason why Lana chose her is because she has the lowest possibility of forming a meaningful relationship.
"It's okay," she says while wiping her tears-soaked cheeks but she can't hide her disappointment from everyone.
"The second person to leave the retreat is..."
There's a huge chance that it'll be from one of the boys so
Changbin holds his breath again, getting more nervous than before.
"Shane."
He happens to sit next to you and you instantly rest your head on his shoulder while Changbin pats him on his knee, feeling like he's losing a friend even though he's only known him for days.
"It is now time for both of you to leave the retreat," Lana orders.
You kiss Shane on the cheek before letting him get up from the sofa to say goodbye to everyone and so is Niamh. She joined him in front of everyone to say goodbye for one last time.
"I hope this reminds the rest of you to take this process more seriously."
And just like that, Lana leaves with dark clouds hanging over everyone's heads.

CHANGBIN: That is one tough pill to swallow.

That should be a wake-up call for anyone to try and do better in this retreat.
Changbin considers himself lucky for not getting sent home tonight and he's still staying, being given another chance to continue building connections with you.
However, Lana demands emotional connections, not physical ones.
There's no denying that he has a strong physical connection with you and that should be the least of his worries. As of this moment, Changbin wants to focus on growing his emotional connection with you.
"Gosh, it feels empty already..." Liam says from the bed across the room.
Everyone's eyes shift in the direction of where Shane and Niamh shared a bed which is now empty.
You turn on the bed to face him and place a hand on his chest, before placing it on his jaw with your thumb tenderly rubbing his cheek.
"Are you okay?" You softly ask.
This is one of the times when he needed you the most. He doesn't reply but rests his head on your chest, letting you softly scratch his head with your finger.
And in a time like this, Changbin is convinced that he has emotional connections with you. There's no other reason why he feels like he can seek comfort from you if not because he's comfortable enough to be vulnerable around you.

CHANGBIN: I don't want to play around anymore. I want to grow with her.

With the girls out for a workshop, Changbin takes the time to get a little sun by the swimming pool with Oliver occupying the lounger next to him.
Changbin seems to have missed something yesterday but he notices that something is going on between Oliver and Sabine.
Oliver spills everything right away and Changbin only realizes it now that Oliver is younger than him which explains his reckless action.
"So you went back from the date with Jax and you said something stupid implying that you're not serious with Sabine?" Changbin concludes out of Oliver's explanation.
Oliver sneers at that, probably realizing how much at fault he is, "Pretty much, yeah."
Changbin lets out a chuckle and takes a sip of water from his tumbler. He knows Oliver is old enough to know that this is his own doing but Changbin feels like he's seeking some bits of advice from him.
"You know you have this connection with Sabine and you're here to develop that connection," Changbin chooses his words carefully to avoid sounding like he's being so self-righteous.
"You just need to control your urges a little," he adds.
Oliver sighs at the last bit, aware that that's his main problem, not being able to control his physical urges.
"But Jax is so... hot like... how come I didn’t think of her sexually when she's that fit?" Oliver innocently says.
Changbin immediately slaps his thigh hard enough that it leaves a mark on his alabaster skin.
"Hey, emotionally! Not physical!" He reminds him.
Oliver laughs, feeling like he's a little kid being scolded by his parents. He recognizes this typical attribute because Changbin has been there once, playing the cool guy who acts like it doesn't bother him but deep down, he does care.
"I know you want to act cool like you don't care about her but you have the chance to make it better, it's not too late," he tells him.
Oliver gets quiet and looks straight ahead, letting a moment pass without a word. Then a minute later, he nods and says, "I'm going to talk to her later."
As a motivation, Changbin gives him a pat on the shoulder, "You can do it, man!"
On the other hand, Lana has been quiet the whole day but that only makes Changbin more suspicious.
When she finally calls everyone to the cabana, he knows he is right to be suspicious, especially at the sight of small boxes on the table.
"Is it Christmas?" Rita playfully comments.
"Have we been here that long?" Nico adds with a chuckle.
Changbin is skeptical that it's going to be a gift, maybe it is but there has to be a catch to it. He knows Lana well enough to know the motive of everything she does.
"Hello, everyone!" The cone chimes.
"Yes, Lana!" Riley shouts, being the loudest to answer to her.
"As you can see, I have a treat for you all," Lana announces, confirming everyone's guesses are true.
Everyone is cheering but Changbin is the only one struggling to accept the fact that Lana is being generous to the group.
"Ooh..." Liam coos in excitement, rubbing his hands together while looking at the box in front of him.
"The purpose of this gift will further enhance your relationships going forward. You may now open your gifts," Lana orders.
No one wastes their time to take their boxes and open them, finding a watch inside. You help him put it around his wrist and he helps you with yours after.
"When I observe two people forming genuine connections, they will be given a green light, like this..."
Lana demonstrates it by turning everyone's watches green at the same time.
"...where the rules do not apply for a limited amount of time."
"This looks good on you," you compliment him.
Changbin flexes his bicep to show it off, "I'll keep close to it with a tense bicep," he jokes.
His first thought is, of course, he wants to get a green light with you and that can be accomplished with emotional growth.
"We have reached the half of the retreat so please use your time wisely," Lana leaves with a gentle reminder that some of us should have accomplished something at this point.
With these watches, Changbin is highly motivated to build an emotional connection with you.

CHANGBIN: We don't need to lose money now because Lana will reward us if we do something right.

Uhm... you wouldn't say you're jealous to see Liam and Riley getting a date from Lana, but you know you just hate to admit it.
It would be nice to go on a date with Changbin because things feel way too alright and you crave a little spark here and there.
For someone who loves getting physical affection, it's exciting that you have the watch and the promise that Lana will reward anyone who shows genuine emotional connection with a green light.
You're not that optimistic that you'd get it but who knows?
The night is warm and you're holding a glass of wine, sitting next to an extremely attractive man.
Changbin is wearing a printed shirt with dark jeans, what you like the most is how his muscles bulge out of those short sleeves.
"You look good, babe," you compliment him with a smile.
"I'm not saying that to try to get a green light," you quickly add.
You know better that a compliment wouldn't get you a green light but because he simply earned it.
You put your legs over his lap and look at him, tilting your head to look him through your lashes.
"You're so sexy and cute and big and gentle..." you compliment him more.
Then you lean into his ear and whisper, "You're irresistible."
Getting no reaction from you, you pout and meekly ask, "Am I not appealing to you anymore?"
"No, baby. No," he strongly denies.
You feel pathetic saying that but at least, you finally get his attention now.
He reaches for your head, endearingly caressing your head, "you are beautiful," he sweetly compliments.
He then takes a good look at you with his hand gliding down your arm until he meets your hand, "Head to toe, I admire all of it," he compliments again.
You deeply look into his eyes and ask, "And you don't feel some type of way?"
Changbin inhales air, his fingers are intertwined with yours on your lap. He seems to know the reason why you asked him that.
"I know you want to break a rule," he says.
"I do," you shortly confirm, beating around the bush will only waste time.
Changbin once again gets quiet, you can't tell if he's mulling things over in his head or if he has no words to say to that.
"I don't think we should be punished for having a connection," you give your opinion.
"But that's what we're here for," he simply responds.
You swallow air to stay calm and keep your tone in check, "I know but I think we shouldn't be adamant about spending the money," you give him a solid de
Changbin nods and a moment later, he comes up with a response to your words.
"I think there's no reason for us to break rules now."
He places his hand on your knee and tenderly rubs the skin with his thumb, "We have these watches and we just need to do this right and Lana will reward us with a green light."
You get it that he's trying to be on Lana's good side but the way he completely shot you down... It almost feels like he forces this decision on both of you and you don't get a say on it.
"Yeah, right," you half-heartedly reply and then drain your glass of wine cause the night suddenly feels cold to you.

YOU: Ugh! I'm so frustrated. I don't know how much longer I can take this.

Everyone is cheering when Liam and Riley return from their date.
They look happy as they become the first to get the first green light. They're not the only ones looking happy, it looks like Sabine and Oliver have made up as they're being lovey-dovey on their bed.
Truthfully, you're happy for both of them but it's hard when you're struggling with your relationship. You feel like, as a couple, you're at a standstill.
Liam and Riley got a green light, you see Sabine and Oliver, they're not perfect but it's endearing to see them overcoming things together.
Then you look at what you have and Changbin, it's alright, it's okay but that's not enough for you. This thought leads you spiraling down, you wonder about everything that is wrong with you and what could've been the source of the problem.
Without intending to, you begin to feel insecure about yourself, questioning everything, including your feelings until it overwhelms you.
When you wake up in the morning, you feel like doing nothing. As if you have the choice, you drag yourself out of bed and get ready for the day. It seems pointless now doing all of this.
"How are you doing, my darling?" Sabine asks.
"Feel like shit," you honestly reply.
Sabine takes her turn to be the one who comes to your aid after you did the same role to him days ago. She reaches across the table to place her hand on your forearm.
"Is it about Changbin? Are you guys alright?" She lowers her voice since the other girls are also in the room.
"I don't like that he's like... 'we're not going to do anything physical'," you tell her while dampening your cotton pad with toner.
"Like... give me something. Fuck!" You lowly curse, putting your suppressed anger into that profanity.
You toss the dirty cotton pads away and let out a long sigh even though it no longer helps you to calm down, "It's like he's cockblocking himself."
"Oh, my God!" Sabine gasps with a horrified look on her face.
Even Sabine can't find any words to say to help you with your crisis because it's that bad and of course, Lana knows about your bad day so she comes to make it worse.
At this point, you give up on trying to guess Lana's intentions and just go with it.
"Hello, everyone," Lana opens her session as usual.
"Hello, Lana!" Sabine cheerily responds next to you.
It's not hard to spot where Changbin when he's the biggest of all of the boys and he's sitting on the far end of the sofa.
"I am pleased to see that several of you have developed romantic connections during your time here," Lana says.
Not sure which couple she deems as romantic but you're sure as hell it's not you.
"But for these relationships to succeed in the long-term, it is vital that you trust each other to resist temptation."
Jax dramatically gasps from the other side of you, "Uh-oh!"
That sure sounds like Lana is brewing something and you're aware you wanted to stop guessing but... old habits die hard.
"Today, I will be putting that to the test."
Oh? Another test? You have done it once and barely passed it, you're not keen on going through that again.
"With the help of two new arrivals."
New guests, huh? So yeah, you don't want to be involved in any drama, not when you're going through something right now.
"The first new arrival is... Javi."
You already have too much in your head to add something else to worry about.
"The second new arrival is... Gia."
And you don't want to do anything, you want to curl up into a ball and be left alone.
"Two of you will be going on private dates with the new arrivals."
Is there a way where you can escape Lana just for a day? A few hours will do.
"They have selected the guests they are most attracted to from a choice of those in relationships."
Everyone else is busy freaking out at Lana's announcement while you keep dissociating yourself from what's happening.
"Javi has chosen to go on a date with..."
You reel yourself back into reality and notice that everyone is looking so tense.
"...Sabine."
It seems like the table has turned. First, it was Oliver and now, Sabine is being picked for the date. You can see the slight panic on Oliver's face.
But then what if...?
"And Gia has chosen to go on a date with..."
You look over at Changbin and feel a little nervous that he'd get picked, well, even if he did get picked and his head turned, then it would only reassure you about the true state of your relationship.
"...Liam."
Yet here you are, letting out a sigh of relief knowing that he didn't get chosen for the date.

YOU: I'm– [sighs] I'm starting to second-guess what I have with Changbin.

Everyone else is buzzing with the new arrivals and all the drama surrounding it, except Changbin.
Everyone has been behaving lately and no one is breaking the rules, everything is going so well so Changbin wonders why you're sitting by yourself looking rather upset about something.
He comes up to you, putting on a smile when you glance up from your glass of wine.
"Hey," he says as he takes a seat next to you.
You hold your drink in the other hand and meekly reply, "Hi."
It's like the girl he met is slowly disappearing from you, you look down and low-spirited, and the sparks in your eyes are somehow dimming.
"How are you feeling?" He asks.
You scratch the back of your neck and weakly smile, "Right now, I'm a little bit lost," you answer.
Lost? Lost as in you don't know where to go or what to do anymore? But the more important question to ask is... is it about you and him?
You uncross your legs and put away your drink, looking serious as you start talking to him, "I do value physical affection and I feel like I wasn't getting what I needed from you," you tell him.
Changbin tilts his head to the side, feeling accused of something he didn't do. He's been treating you well and trying to do better every day so yeah, he won't easily accept you just said to him.
"I told you that there's no reason why we should break rules now," he reminds you of the things he has said to you once.
It seems like you have so many things to say to him but not wanting to let it out, but he's noticing how your jaws are clenched and unclenched.
"We're supposed to work on our connection and I've been opening up so much to you but you're not," you reply to him.
He's not going to lie, you hit him hard with that one. He admits you've been so open to him and what he gave back to you? Not so much.
"Being more open... that's not easy for me," he honestly admits.
"I know," you answer.
"And I've seen you trying but it's been a while now and it feels like we're not going anywhere," you look away and let out a low sigh.
It makes his head hurt how you misunderstood everything and doubted him when all he does is try to do what's right.
"I like you," he says to you, running out of things to say to convince you.
"But you don't show me that and I started to think that maybe it's not because of the money..." Your voice is quivering and you pause to inhale air.
Changbin lets you finish talking because he knows you still have a lot to utter to him.
You brush your hair to the back and sigh, "You make me feel so insecure and I don't like that," you conclude.
Not only that half of what you said is not true, Changbin is a little annoyed at how haste you conclude things. He also doesn't like how you doubt him, questioning everything when he thinks that he has shown you everything he has.
Changbin has a lot to say to that but he doesn't want to do the same thing, being haste about it and saying things he didn't mean.

CHANGBIN: I don't want to give up on her but I need some time to think things through.

It's the first time in the retreat you wake up feeling not excited, you wake up letting out a long sigh instead.
Lana chimes in for her morning greeting so you drag yourself out of the duvet and sit up on the bed with your back resting against the headboard.
"Good morning, everyone!"
A few are sleepily answering to her while the others are still struggling to open their eyes.
"Javi and Gia, I trust that you sleep well," Lana says, talking to the new guests.
Gia turns to look at everyone in the room, "are there usually noises in the middle of the night?"
"What noises?" Liam asks.
"Like smooching sounds..." Gia proceeds to describe the noises she heard last night.
To be completely honest, you're hearing your own thoughts all night to hear anything else.
"From where?"
Gia shakes her head, "No idea."
Well, wherever that smooching sound coming from, it's definitely not from your bed. You wake up next to Changbin but this morning, it feels like you're merely there for the sole reason that is sharing the bed and nothing more.
"How is it going with our big guy?" Sabine asks as the two of you are doing your make-up in the dressing room.
"I talked to him last night," you answer.
Sabine twists her hair before putting it on one shoulder, "And how did it go?"
You squeeze a dollop of moisturizer on the back of your hand and slowly dab it on your face, "a lot of stuff been said, a lot of stuff going down..."
Sabine turns on her feet to face you, "What's going on?"
Your shoulders slumped as you let out a sigh, "I honestly don't want to talk about it," you tell her.
As much as you want to tell her everything, talking about last night only makes you feel sad and you don't want to let it bring you down further.

YOU: The ball is on Changbin's court now so let's see what he's going to do with it.

Just because there's drama going on with you, that doesn't mean you're not aware that the new guy, Javi, has been secretly checking you out since last night.
Just now, you notice him clocking you out while you're chilling in the swimming pool with Jax.
After a while, he realizes that you know so he swims in your direction and stops right in front of you.
Beads of water are dripping down his tattooed body, he brushes his wet hair to the back and smiles at you.
"Hey, how are you girls doing?" He greets both of you, but his eyes are only looking at you.
"Good. You?" Jax answers.
You decide not to say anything but lock in a gaze with him, those light brown eyes are piercing right through you.
Javi looks away to glance at Jax and a moment later, puts his eyes on you again, more intense than before.
"Red looks good on you," he compliments.
The way he's looking at you, it's like he's doing something unspokenly filthy with those eyes.
"I know," you coyly say with a half smirk.
Javi flicks his eyes to your lips for a second then intensely stares into your eyes before brushing his hair to the back again.
"See you girls later," he says, then continues swimming to the other end of the pool.
Jax nudges your side with her eyes watching Javi swimming away, "Look at those shoulders," she whispers.
"I know," you mutter back, getting that fluttering feeling as you recall the way he looked at you.
The reason Lana has been quiet lately is because she's been collecting the receipts and you believe she's going to expose them soon.
And just like you have predicted, she gathers everyone in the bedroom when you're still getting ready for the night. Even though you have to third-wheel Liam and Riley, you decide to sit on their bed because it's much closer to the door back to the dressing room.
"Hello, everyone!" Lana starts.
"Hi, Lana!" The group replies in unison, not sure about everyone else but you're not that excited to hear her voice.
"You have received watches as part of the next stage of your development at my retreat. Unfortunately, some of you have still decided to disobey my rules."
See? You know she's been quiet for a reason, not because she didn't know people had been secretly breaking the rules.
Nico raises his hand and speaks up, "I'm just going to straight up telling you guys that Rita and I kissed," he bravely confesses.
"I'm sorry," Rita quickly adds with an adorable pout.
Everyone let that one slide because someone is quick to claim with their rulebreak and it's making it easier for everyone to assess the damage.
"This breach of rules has cost the group $6,000," Lana announces.
Here is the time for the animosity to fill the air, the cone is still lighting up so it means she's not done, there must be another rule break.
"Okay, who else wants to fess up?" Changbin says and he looks confident saying that because there's nothing happened last night, or anything before that for that matter.
"You're looking nervous there, Gareth," Liam points out, shifting everyone's attention to him.
Gareth doesn't put on a good poker face, he keeps rubbing his chin with both of his ears reddening. You look at Jax and she's only giggling next to him.
"Oh, God!" Sabine groans with her hand flying to her forehead.
Gareth finally faces everyone and lets out a nervous laugh, "We had a moment last night, we uh..." he starts, now scratching his ears, flustered.
"With all of us in the room?" Riley asks in disbelief.
"We what?" Oliver presses him.
"We started with a kiss," Gareth continues, stammering as he speaks, "Then we wanted to..."
"Mate, stop stalling," Oliver presses him more.
Poor Gareth, he's under a lot of pressure right now and Jax is right there, leaving his man facing it alone. After a moment though, she finally finishes it for him.
"I gave him a hand job, no big deal," she nonchalantly admits.
There's a mix of reactions but most of them are disappointed groans. Apart from the fact that he spent money, you understand Gareth's struggle though.
"That's so selfish!" Changbin says loud enough for everyone to hear.
Except for Changbin probably, he doesn't understand the struggle because he's Lana's loyal disciple.
"Jax and Gareth, I must inform you that your rule breaks have resulted in a total of $16,000," Lana announces.
The groans are filling the room and everyone is sure not tolerating what Gareth and Jax did because they're only been here for barely a week now.
"The prize fund now stands at $139,000," Lana updates.

YOU: It seems like Changbin is too busy worrying about the money than our relationship [scoffs]

The vibe gets a little off in the villa ever since Lana announced the current prize fund.
You finish your make-up quickly and get out of the villa, get a drink for yourself, and then sit on the lounger.
The night is warm with cool air blowing your way, you look up and see the stars like pinpricks on the night sky, it's a beautiful night, too bad you don't have anyone to share it with.
"May I sit?" Someone asks.
You turn on your seat to see Javi standing with a drink in his hand, looking good in a black t-shirt and blue jeans and no everyone can't look that attractive in such a casual attire.
"Yes, please," you tell him with a smile.
He then sits on the lounger next to you, sitting facing you with your knees almost touching in the middle.
"How are you?" He asks.
"I'm good," you lie, in the hope that if you believed it enough, it'd come true, "You?"
"Great!" He shortly answers with a bright smile, showcasing his perfect white teeth.
You respond with a smile then take a sip of your wine, your eyes are quietly looking at the tattoos peeking out of the neckline of his t-shirt.
"You look amazing," he compliments with yet another bright smile.
"Thank you," you say, suddenly so aware of yourself that you cross your legs together.
"I like the dress. It suits you well," he compliments again.
Javi sure knows how to amuse a girl, complimenting you to the tiniest details just to let you know that he pays attention to you.
"Thank you," you say again.
Javi takes a sip of his drink before putting his attention back to you, "I actually can't believe how beautiful you are," he sweetly compliments again.
You crack a shy laugh and thank him again, suddenly having problems accepting compliments.
"It's nice to finally be able to talk to you," he says.
"Why is that so?" You curiously ask.
"As soon as I looked at you, you caught my eyes but I obviously didn't want to step on anyone's toes," Javi openly shares, avoiding using Changbin's name.
"Really?" You ask.
"Yes," He answers with a nod then buries his head in his hands, probably to hide his reddening cheeks.
And you like that in contrast to his appearance, he gets shy as he's talking to you.
"I like that you're shy, it's sexy," you compliment him back with a satisfied grin.
"Well, I'm trying to..." he can't finish his sentence without shyly laughing.
Javi takes a big gulp of his wine and swallows it down fast, he looks a little nervous so whatever he's going to say next it's important to him.
"So, what do you think the sleeping arrangements will be?" He asks.
Oh? He's quite aggressive and you like that. It reminds you of someone you used to know but unfortunately, he's not that man anymore and Javi seems to be more than glad to take that role.
You tilt your head to the side and ask, "What do you want it to be?"
Javi is giving you that gaze again, the kind of gaze that slowly strips you away from your senses, making you a little crazy.
"I think you'd look much better in my bed," he boldly remarks.
You're not sure if it's because he's so attractive, a bit aggressive or if it's because you're just so desperate for some attention and some touches.
Either way, you want in.

YOU: I've been waiting for Changbin but he clearly has not gotten the message so I might have to explore some other options here.

The longer he's away from you the more Changbin realizes that he doesn't want to give up on you.
He's indeed worrying too much about the rules and the money that he forgets that the point of this retreat is to build a connection. He admits that his plan has backfired on him.
The worst of all, he's been forcing this on you without asking you how you feel about it.
That's fatal and he understands now why you're so mad. He doesn't know why it took him this long but he's ready to have another talk with you again.
This time, he promises to be more open because you deserve it, you deserve better.
After drying his hair, Changbin tosses the towel into the laundry basket and makes his way to the bedroom. He has nothing in his mind, he's just going get in there and wait for you on his bed.
Once he pushes the door though, he's not expecting to see you getting on Javi's bed. He has to take a second to register what he's seeing before snapping himself out of it. He continues his way to his bed, collapsing onto the mattress and trying hard to ignore how Javi is cuddling you on the bed opposite his.
"You're okay, Bin?" Nico asks from the bed next to him.
Changbin plays it cool by giving him a thumbs up in response.
Well, to be honest, he's mad, he feels like walking up to you and asks, 'What the fuck?
He planned on talking to you but how is he going to do that if you're on someone's bed?

CHANGBIN: I really wanted to believe that this was going in the right decision but I just believed it too soon.

Carsickness?
Leo was bouncing his leg up and down as they waited for Bella and Luke to get out of the house. He was trying to keep an upbeat attitude, after all Jonah was already cranky enough for both of them, but it was hard when those two idiots seemed to always be late for everything.
"How are you gonna run for mayor if you cannot make it to a 9 AM appointment, Luke?" Leo groaned, as they finally walked out, Lucas bouncing on his feet, while Bella trailed after him with a tired demeanor.
"I'm running for mayor?" Luke frowned, jumping the last two steps and messing up Leo's hair, causing the blonde to shove him off with a scoff.
"Give it five years," Leo grumbled, while Jonah simply huffed, arms crossed to his chest and leaning against his car.
"Twenty three minutes," Jon said through his teeth, leveling Lucas with a glare, then Bella as well for good measure, "you two said you'd be waiting for us, twenty three minutes ago."
"Oh my, you're going to die because you waited twenty minutes?" Lucas rolled his eyes, "you're the one who invited us, if you don't want us-"
"Actually, I invited Bella," Leo cleared up, feeling a smidge of amusement over his annoyance that matched his boyfriend's. If there was one thing they could agree on was that being late was terrible.
Luke made a wounded face, all but pouting and stumbling into place, "Ah... You don't want me to go...?"
Well, shit.
More often than not they could joke and all be sarcastic and mean and it barely registered, but in truth the last thing that Leo wanted was to hurt his friends. He let out a sigh, "I didn't say that."
"God, you guys are so mushy," Bella groaned, planting a hand on her husband's back and shoving him forward, "get in the car, Atwood."
It was all the incentive they needed and they got the party on the road. Leo was driving, for once, because he really didn't want to go pick up his new car feeling carsick and woozy. Jonah was still in a shitty mood, but he had retrieved JD from her cat carrier box and was petting her, a clear tell his mood would be looking up soon enough. And Luke wouldn't shut the fuck up.
He was like a little kid, or rather, a puppy trapped in the backseat of their car that was far too small for him. Bella was leaning against the door, curled up slightly and watching him with a fond smile on, not seeming bothered by the fact he didn't seem able to stand still.
Leo wondered if he had that same type of stupid love struck look on when he looked at Jonah, because for all Bella wanted to upkeep her bitchface, she was clearly smitten to hell and back.
"Do you guys wanna stop for breakfast?" Luke pushed his face slightly against the window as they drove by a side of the road restaurant.
"Our appointment is at 10h30 AM" Jonah reminded them, "no stopping."
"Can we turn music on?"
"No."
"You're gonna remove that stick from your ass or...?" Lucas rolled his eyes, sliding his had in between seats so he could pet JD, only for Jonah to turn his body away, shielding the cat.
Leo caught Bella's eyes in the rearview mirror and she was grinning like mad, leaning to whisper in his ear, "they're never beating the sibling allegations."
Leo snorted at the thought, glancing at Jonah once more and the frankly very similar jawline he had with Luke... Whatever. They had enough family drama without needing to turn their group into a full blown soap opera with paternity reveals and what not.
The shop they were headed to was in Portland and not the best area of the town, hence why Leo had asked Bella to tag along. If there was one person in their friend group that he trusted with mechanics it was Bell, and even more so to kick the ass of anyone trying to scam him.
The opportunity had just been too good to pass up, a beautiful white SUV that had Leo already imagining himself inside of it like a prince and better yet, that fit the price he had set for himself. Of course Jonah had bitched and moaned about getting a second hand car, but he could bitch and moan all he wanted, Leo wanted to pay for his own car thank you very much.
Again, if there was anyone who understood that, it was Bella and her Jurassic car, that was older than both their ages combined.
"Uhm, Leo," Bella poked his shoulder, "can you pull over? Over there," she pointed over his shoulder to a quiet street in a bit of a broke down neighborhood. No, he did not want to pull over Jon's fancy BMW, but he did anyway.
"What's wrong?" Lucas asked, who had successfully managed to pspspsp JD to rest her little head in his hand, turning to look at his wife.
"Just a second," Bella mumbled, pushing his had away from her waist when Luke tried to hold her, and opening the door.
She circled the car and Leo frowned, looking at Jon with a puzzled expression, "what the hell...?" in the rearview mirror he saw Bella brace against the trunk, taking deep, measured breaths... Then bend down and disappear from view.
"What the fuck!?" Leo echoed his incredulity, throwing his own door open just in time to hear her retching, half muffled by Luke's exaggerated, "BELL!"
Leo got out as well, while Jon kept his ass planted inside, but threw open his door, carefully moving JD back to her carrier.
As soon as Leo rounded the back, he found Bella almost down to her knees, coughing. She was holding on the back of the car with one hand, while the other one was trying - and sort of failing - to keep back her hair. There was a small puddle of vomit, but nothing much.
"Why didn't you say you were feeling sick, baby?!" Lucas skipped down to his knees, grabbing her and starting to rub her back, causing Bella to let out an annoyed groan.
"I'm fine..." She panted, eyes squeezed shut and breathing slowly through her mouth. Leo raised his eyebrows, not sure if he was impressed by her ability to lie in face of the evidence or not.
"Did you get carsick?" he asked, sidestepping the mess and Bella shook her head, blowing out a small burp and leaning more forward. Luke planted a hand on her forehead, supporting her head as her stomach, appearing thanks to her crop top, heaved once more.
Leo cringed in sympathy and returned to the car, where Jonah had a queasy frown on, "no," Leo knelt on the seat, poking his fiancé, "no bitching at her for getting sick, be nice."
"I'm not a dog," Jonah barked at him and JD meowed, sounding offended just like her owner. Leo snorted, grabbing a water bottle in the glovebox and showing his tongue to his cat.
"Stop siding with him, little miss, he doesn't even give you extra snacks," Leo whispered, then walked back to the back, where Bella was trying and failing to cough up more of last night's dinner.
"Shh," Luke held her hair back now, deciding to make himself useful, and was rubbing her back with the other hand, "deep breaths, baby."
"Shut- Shut up," Bella groaned, gulping down nauseously. She lifted up her head to look at Leo, "I'm sorry..." her throat bobbed dangerously, "just give me a minute."
"No, take your time," Leo frowned, "don't worry about the appointment, the guy can wait ten minutes."
The irony of his words, when they had been bitching about waiting just an hour before, was not lost on Leo and he opened a smile. Bella offered him a little queasy smirk, before groaning, "oh god-" and heaving again, managing to bring up a mouthful of brightly colored stuff against the tarmac.
A gruesome sight, really. Leo's disgust probably showed on his face, because Luke glared over Bella's head, "go away," he said roughly and Leo jumped, spooked.
"Sorry, I- I'm gonna give you some privacy, sorry-" he walked backwards to the driver's side and entered, feeling a stab of guilt. He didn't mean to make Bella self conscious, hopefully this was just Luke being insane...
"Is she alright?" Jon asked, glancing at the rearview mirror. They couldn't see much, just Luke rubbing his wife's back and Bella's bending down with another heave, "that was out of nowhere."
"It's this stupid stanced car," Leo grumbled, crossing his arms, "I wouldn't survive 10 minutes in the back."
"My car is not stanced," Jon wrinkled his nose, offended, "it's just a sports car."
"The back is cramped."
"Luke was fine and he's twice her size," Jonah pointed out, then perked up as the couple in question walked back to the car.
Bella collapsed inside, holding the water bottle to her face, appreciating the cool surface. Her voice was all raspy as she said, "sorry, guys," she gulped down, "don't know what happened."
"Carsickness is a bitch," Leo volunteered, then nearly laughed as he saw Luke trying to fix Bella's top and her shoving his hand away and hissing, "stop fussing, I'm fine."
"Hold on," Leo turned up the A/C to the max, knowing it'd help and Bella let out a small relieved sigh. She opened her eyes, seeming to be coming back to her former self, then unscrewed the cap of the water bottle, taking a sip.
"Let's go?"
"You don't want us to wait a minute?" Luke frowned, stroking her cheek despite Bella's previous shoves, "just so your stomach settles?"
"It's plenty settled," she cleared her throat, taking a bigger gulp, "c'moooon, I'm not dying. Let's go, we're getting blondie a new car today."
And sure, she was all show and badass attitude, but Bella did look better. Her paleness was fading quickly and she no longer was gulping down nervously. Nevertheless, Leo kept an eye on her, just in case.
The mechanic wasn't far out, but the guy smelled like beer and immediately assumed Bella and Leo were together, since they were the first to enter. How the guy hadn't clocked him as gay was beyond Leo, but he bit his tongue and said nothing as the mildly homophobic man continued to chat up Bella as if she was the airhead wife who called the shots of their relationship with pouts and whines.
"It's a nice car, right ma'am?" the man opened the driver's door for Bella, adjusting the seat, "gonna impress all your friends, it's a head turner."
"I know, right?" Bella's voice was up a whole note to a chilling degree and Leo opened a huge smile at her cheerleader tone, "Leo, sweetheart, look at the automatic panel..."
"Its got a blindspot detector," the mechanic continued to prattle on, "it's keyless and-" he clicked on a button, opening the trunk, "a huge trunk for all sorts of groceries."
"A big trunk, Leo!" Bella squealed and Leo had to press his lips not to laugh, "he loves it, if you know what I mean," she winked and the man nodded in approval, letting his eyes go down Bell's body, completely missing the double meaning.
"Yes, ma'am, he's a lucky man," he said patting the leather seat, "the backseat is spacious, you wanna check it?"
"Absolutely," Bella jumped from the driver's seat so she could climb in the back.
Leo took the chance since they were both preoccupied, so he could look back to where Luke and Jon were waiting at the doors of the garage, both silently shaking with giggles. Jonah's face was an entire shade darker with a blush and he looked close to tears from the effort of holding back laughter.
"Can we take a look under the hood, Keith?" Bella asked and the man eagerly approved.
"Of course, darling, c'mere-" he opened the hood, then did nothing, gesturing around, "as you see, it's all in order-"
"Battery is not original," Bella's voice was now back to its own normal tone and the man seemed startled, "neither is the painting, the car used to be orange," she pointed a detail, "and-" she started unscrewing something that was totally beyond Leo's knowledge, then turned around and grabbed a metal rod from one of the mechanic benches, cleaning it and shoving it inside the compartment she had just unscrewed, "this oil is from the last century, he'll need to get this changed ASAP. You're gonna reduce the price of that, of course- Did you change out the radiator? Why?"
Keith looked like he had just seen a magic trick and his brain was trying and failing to figure it out. He spluttered a bit, so Bella planted her hands on her hips, "Keith?"
In the end, Leo got two thousand bucks off the price he had originally planned to pay, as well as a whole wheel, that they gracefully put in the really large trunk.
They drove out separately now, Leo and Bella in the new vehicle, and Jon, Luke and JD in Jonah's car, "I kinda miss having keys," Leo pouted, "I was gonna get a cute keychain."
"You can still get one for your house keys," Bella smiled, leaning in to squeeze his arm, "and for the emergency car keys."
"I guess," he couldn't stop smiling, "at least now you're not gonna be carsick on the drive back. I'm sorry, we should've thought Jonah's car was cramped as hell and taken Luke's-"
"I wasn't carsick," Bella shrugged, lowering her window and smiling as Jon zoomed past them, honking for good measure. It was probably Luke driving.
"No?"
"Nah, felt off since I woke up," her cheeks turned pink, hand sliding to her stomach in a fond manner... And Leo nearly drove his brand new (sorta) car straight into a lamp post.
"Bella?!"
"No," she shook her head, then paused, "I don't know, don't think so," Bella bit down her lip, seeming hesitant for the first time all day, all the brilliant confidence he had seen before vanishing in a puff, "don't tell anyone, not that there's anything to tell, just-"
"Does Luke-" his mouth was really dry now and his heart was hammering, as if Leo was the father of Bella's hypothetical baby. She shrugged, uncomfortable.
"Please don't say anything," she looked away, "like I said, it's probably not it."
"Ah," Leo's head was spinning now and he stopped at a red light, catching up with Luke and Jonah. The window lowered and Jonah poked his head out, sunglasses on and whistling.
"Hey handsome!" he yelled and Leo lowered his window, but he was really off his game now, "can I have your number!?"
He chuckled weakly, while Bella leaned over him, "fuck off, he's taken, Jonah!" she said brightly, squeezing Leo's arm so he'd get himself together, "suuuuch a lucky guy to land a beautiful woman like me, Keith said so!"
Jonah cackled, raising a middle finger and lowered his sunglasses, a lopsided smile on as he caught Leo's eyes, "race you home?" Luke made the BMW roar.
Bella scoffed, patting Leo's shoulder, "c'mon, blondie, get your shit together. Your car is cooler than Jon's prehistoric BMW!" she shouted the last line and Jonah continued to laugh.
"Can't hear you over the noise of you LOSING!"
Leo shook his head, catching Bella's eyes and then squeezed her hand in his, forcing up a smile and turning to her, "put your seatbelt on, Bell," then to Jonah, leaning out of his window as well, "eat dust, motherfucker."
All he heard was Jonah saying, "crush 'em," to Luke before the lights turned green.

Warnings: An asshole named Negan and a woman who can't get over him.
Luckily, nothing serious happened to David, except maybe the scare of his life. Negan really pulled himself together. Maybe he has finally become sensible. I had actually given up hope.
When my daughters miraculously went to school on time and Negan left the house with them, I took a deep breath.
What had happened in the last few hours?
I really feel that as soon as my ex-husband is near me for longer than five minutes, he throws my whole life into absolute chaos.
Inevitably, I had to think about the last night and my pulse immediately accelerated. It was just madness. This man still knows my body better than I do. No one can touch me the way he does. Instantly, I felt that tingling in my stomach again. That damn feeling that has often led me into misery.
19 years ago
Even though I had left my old home eight years ago to build my own life in New York, I kept in touch with my best friend Harper. Harper and I spent our entire school years together, and our connection never broke despite the distance. We used to be a trio, but Scarlet unfortunately became one of the main reasons why I had moved away so hastily.
God, I was so stupid back then not to recognize the signs and always make excuses for Negan and her. But sometimes you are so blinded that you only realize it when you see it with your own eyes.
The fact that Harper has been dating Negan's best friend Simon for a few years was, admittedly, really strange for me at first. After all, I tried with all my might to erase Negan from my life, but by now we had been separated for ages and the anger had subsided over the years. The anger, yes, but unfortunately not all the other feelings I felt towards him. If I was honest with myself, I immediately compared every new man in my life to him. Even though I didn't want to, I thought so often about our time together. Everything reminded me of him, even though I lived in a completely different city, but you can't run away from feelings.
Whenever Harper happened to mention something about Simon and Negan during our hours-long phone calls, I immediately became quiet and absorbed every piece of information. Of course, I never asked directly, my pride was too great for that, but it seemed that this guy would remain my weakness forever.
This is also how it came about that Harper invited me to her birthday. I was very excited for the house party at her place and took a few days off to fly to my old city.
After we were both incredibly excited on the phone that I would be able to follow her invitation, Harper suddenly became quite serious at the other end.
"Negan will be there too..." she said calmly.
Immediately I was speechless. Why would he show up there? After all, it's my best friend's birthday, not Simon's. I cleared my throat briefly, but then I absolutely did not want to spoil their, or my, mood.
"Yes, of course... it's totally okay! I'm looking forward to seeing him again after so long... Oh man, we were teenagers and now you're already 28, you old hag..." I joked, even though I didn't feel like joking at all, thinking about my ex-boyfriend who had broken my heart in such a brutal way.
"Yes, yes ..first get to my age! At 27, you still talk so easily." Harper countered.
Until the day of the party, I managed to push the thought of seeing Negan again out of my mind. However, when I rang her doorbell, the nervousness crept up on me. Is he already there? How will he react to me? And how will I react to him? Does he still think about me sometimes? Does he even miss me occasionally?
When Harper greeted me with the words that I was the first guest, a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Of course, postponed is not canceled, but in that moment I felt a strange relief.
We embraced joyfully and I congratulated her from the bottom of my heart. Then I handed her a bottle of her favorite Prosecco and a self-made voucher for a weekend in New York. She had wanted to visit me so many times, but the plans always failed and in the end, I was always the one who visited.
The greeting with Simon was a strange mix of a handshake and a hug, so I was glad when Harper asked me if I could help her in the kitchen.
It was my first visit to the two of them since they had moved into a shared apartment. The whole thing was really strange for me, everything seemed so adult, almost bourgeois. Not at all like I knew her. Okay, we had grown up, but somehow time seemed to have stood still for me. Since I went to New York at the age of 19, not much had changed in my lifestyle. Except that I had a steady job and earned my own money.
Harper's kitchen was full of modern appliances, while at home, I was happy if I could find a sharp knife.
But before we started preparing the rest of the food, Harper opened us two beers and within seconds, everything was just like old times. We joked and laughed about the most trivial things, and soon the first guests arrived. The doorbell kept ringing, and then Simon opened the door to let the next ones in. People would then show up in the kitchen after a few seconds, congratulating my friend on her birthday. Some of them I knew from before, while others were new acquaintances, mainly her coworkers. Mentally, I tried to match the names to the stories that Harper had told me during one of our phone conversations.
Superficially, I played it cool, but inside, I was boiling. A thousand times, I played in my mind how I would react if Negan walked in through the door. I kept envisioning that one scene that made me startle every time the doorbell rang.
I opened another beer and then helped Harper set up the buffet. The salads were piling up, she had prepared so much. Everything was planned down to the smallest detail. The color scheme of the decor matched, and the dishes were all from the same brand.
With my arms crossed on my hips, I admired everything. "Wow, I have to say, you've really become the perfect housewife, while I..."
"While you still have the hottest ass in all of America... Damn, just look at her. God bless America!" a very familiar voice interrupted me.
Amidst all the commotion around us, I hadn't even noticed that Negan had entered the kitchen. Being surprised by his presence made it even harder. I took a deep breath and then turned with a smile on my face to face him.
He was already so close to me that there was barely any space between us, and his face put on that typical grin. I hadn't seen him in so long, but his green-brown eyes looked familiar to me. Without hesitation, he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me in for a kiss on my cheek.
I literally inhaled his scent, a mixture of rugged aftershave, cigarette smoke, and his own unique scent. Instead of letting go immediately, he held me much longer than necessary, and I was frozen in his arms.
"It feels unbelievably great to finally feel you so close again..." he whispered in my ear, and I immediately got goosebumps all over my body.
None of the prepared lines came out of my mouth.
He hadn't forgotten how to charm me, if anything, he seemed to have perfected it.
I stared at him wordlessly until he suddenly leaned in even more. Bewildered, I evaded him, and he grabbed one of the beer bottles that were right behind me.
Amused by my reaction, he winked at me and clinked his bottle against mine. Then he disappeared into the living room. Suddenly, a former classmate approached me and hugged me to greet me. She immediately started talking a mile a minute, but I couldn't follow her words as I kept thinking about the recent situation with Negan.
Some time passed before we all decided to move to the living room. Negan and Simon were standing by the window, smoking a cigarette. I tried my best not to stare at him constantly, but I caught myself doing it repeatedly.
Harper introduced me to Daniel, one of her coworkers. The three of us sat down with a few others at the living room table. The conversation was already in full swing, so it was easy for me to just join in.
I was in the middle of telling the others about the most unique restaurants in New York when I suddenly felt someone sit next to me on the couch. Without looking, I could tell it was Negan. Immediately, my heart rate increased, but I tried not to show it and continued talking.
Negan started a conversation with Daniel, who was still sitting next to me, so I leaned further forward so they could talk better. Negan leaned even closer behind my back to his conversation partner, and suddenly, I felt his hand on my hip. A bolt of electricity shot through my body, but I tried not to show it. As if that wasn't enough, my t-shirt had ridden up slightly in this position, and Negan began gently stroking the bare skin of my back with his thumb. God, how I had missed this feeling. I pushed all doubts aside and just focused on his tender touch and what it was doing to me.
It was only when I heard my name that I was snapped out of my trance.
"What?" I asked, startled, looking at Negan, who straight ened and then smiled knowingly at me.
"The beer at Dawson's is a disaster..." he laughed.
I leaned back against the couch and then looked at Daniel.
"Oh yes, terrible... gave me the hangover of my life," I tried to somehow join the conversation.
"That was probably more about the quantity than the quality..." Negan noted amusedly and reached for my thigh. His hand stayed there for the next while, until I loudly declared that I needed to visit the restroom and disappeared there.
Upon reaching the bathroom, I straightened up in front of the mirror and looked at my reflection questioningly. Where was all of this leading? I didn't have an answer.
As soon as I opened the door to go back, Negan was standing right in front of me. Lost in my thoughts, I bumped into him.
"Hey... not so hasty! Is it already midnight, or why are you in such a hurry, Cinderella?" he said, holding my upper arms.
"Would you search for me if I lost my shoe?" I asked, looking at him inquisitively.
"I may not be a damn prince, but fuck, honey. I would turn the whole world upside down to find you..." he replied.
I'm not sure if I was the one who took a step back, or if he led me back to the bathroom, but suddenly we were there. Negan closed the door behind him and locked it, not taking his eyes off me.
"And what would you do when you find me?" I asked innocently, nervously biting my lower lip.
Negan pulled me towards him abruptly and kissed me just as passionately.
"Exactly this..." he whispered into my open mouth before our tongues touched. In that kiss lay all the desire and the incredible longing that had been dormant in me for the past years. I clutched onto the hair at the back of his head as if I never wanted to let go.
Slowly, my mouth traveled along his jaw, his beard pleasantly scratching my lips, and when I touched his neck, I felt his Adam's apple slightly vibrate.
"I was such a damn idiot..." he now whispered softly.
"Oh yes, you were... I think now would be the right time to make things right..." I said, as I was already undoing the belt of his pants.
Negan grinned at me, "If we stay in here any longer, everyone outside will know what we've been up to in here."
"Very good..." I said with a smile and was about to kneel down, but he stopped me.
"Stop, we don't have time for that now..." as he said that, he turned me around so that my back was to him, then crossed his arms in front of me and pulled me close to him. The feeling of his strong body made me even more unrestrained.
"Baby, believe me, I'll do anything you want, but first, I just need to feel your sweet pussy around my cock... I've missed you so incredibly much..." he growled in a deep voice directly into my ear and pushed me towards the washing machine, until I eventually leaned against it.
The lower arm of his left arm landed on my back and gently pushed my upper body down. While holding me in this position, with his right hand, he pulled down my jeans and underwear, and I excitedly helped him until they were hanging around my knees, presenting Negan with my naked behind. It didn’t take more than a second before your phone rang after you sent the message.
“I thought you wanted to call?” you answered, moving your phone so Jason could see your face. He shrugged, shooting you a smile.
“Wanted to see your pretty face is all,” he said, and you could feel your face heat up at the compliment. Averting your eyes, you sink in your seat, trying to hide your face in your sweater. “Awe, is this what you look like when you get flustered? There’s no way I can't stop flustering you now. If this is what your reaction is going to be every time I do.”
“I’m hanging up now,” you mumbled into your sweater, and wondered if he heard that. Judging by the smile he gave you, he did.
“Nah, I don’t think so. You called my face pretty and you wanted to kiss it,” he said. That made you come out of your sweater and glared at him.
“I think I said stupid face,” you corrected, “you have a stupid face.”
“That you want to kiss,” Jason pointed out with a smile. You stuck out your tongue at him, making him laugh. “How’s the train ride?”
You shrugged, shifting in your seat trying to get comfortable. “A train ride I guess. We just left the station and it’ll be two hours until we get to Metropolis? My butts gonna hurt once I get there.”
“Gotta walk around once in a while,” Jason reminded, “did you bring anything for the ride?”
“Yeah, homework I still need to finish, my sketchbook and some books I’ve been meaning to read.”
“Sounds like a party,” Jason joked. You huffed out a laugh.
“Oh yeah, real life of the party over here.”
Before either of you could continue, you faintly heard a door slamming open and closing before hearing a faint call of Jason! You promised me breakfast! From what you could make out, it was a female voice and you pushed down the bout of jealousy that came from nowhere. You didn’t have the right to be jealous. Jason wasn’t yours, he was his own person and you two weren’t seeing each other officially. He was free to do what he pleased. Still, you couldn’t lie and say that it didn’t hurt.
You watched as Jason scowled, and turned towards the voice. “Yeah, give me a minute I’m on the phone.”
You schooled your features and raised an eyebrow as he turned back to his phone. “You already had breakfast plans, yet you still tried to make them with me? Wow Jason, didn’t know you had that in you.”
“Okay, first of all, I’m not a two timing bitch,” he clarified and you blanched at the statement. Damn, and you thought you hid it well. “And like I said before, I’d ditch my family for you any day of the week without question.”
“Aw Jason, you’d ditch your own sister! I see how it is,” the female voice said. Jason made a face as a blond haired girl came into frame, hanging off of Jason’s shoulders. Her nose pressed into his cheek and she smiled. “Tell me how you really feel, Jason.”
“Okay, I will,” he said, shoving her off, “you’re an annoying little shit.” She laughed and turned towards the phone. She was pretty, you had to admit.
“Oh, Tim’s right. You are cute,” she said, and you pulled your sweater over your mouth, trying to keep a laugh in as Jason looked offended.
“Steph!” he yelled, shoving her face out of frame. “Go away.”
“No, you promised me breakfast last night, and I demand pancakes,” she said, coming back in, shoving Jason out of frame as she did so. She turned to you and smiled. “Hello, I’m Jason’s sister Stephanie. You must be Y/N, it’s nice to meet you. I’ve heard virtually nothing about you.”
“And I’m trying to keep it that way,” he grunted, pushing her away. The two fought until finally they settled with Stephanie leaning on his shoulder. “How’d you even know their name?”
“Tim,” she answered. You raised your eyebrow in question. “He gets bored when he has nothing to do. And he decided to snoop around Jason’s life.”
“Well I’ll try not to be offended,” you said, though you furrowed your brows in concern. “Should I be worried?”
“I don’t think so,” Stephanie hummed, “not unless you have something to hide.”
“Do you have something to hide?” Jason pressed, a teasing smile dancing on his lips. You puffed out your cheeks and looked away.
“Oooh you do,” Stephanie sang, “tell us before we find out from Tim.”
“Tim needs to mind his own fucking business,” you muttered to yourself, causing Jason to laugh. “And no, I have nothing to hide. Lived a pretty boring life.”
“Don’t know, you tried killing your sister once,” Jason mused.
“I didn’t try on purpose! I pushed her off the deck into the lake,” you corrected, “and my dad got to her before anything could happen. Man, he was pissed. I feared for my life that day. I’ve never known fear until I saw the look he gave me.” You shuddered at the memory.
“How old were you?” Stephanie asked, worry laced in her words. You shrugged, staring at the corner of your phone, avoiding their gaze.
“Ten I think? Could be younger, I don’t know. Thought it would be funny, and it was until it wasn’t.”
“Did he hurt you?” Jason asked, you shook your head and moved your gaze to him.
“No. But the way he looked, he wanted to. If we were alone he probably would have. I booked it into the car and hid there until we went home. Then I hid in my room for the rest of the day.”
“Yikes. Why was he so mad? Bruce wouldn’t have been if we did something like that.”
“That’s because we knew how to take care of ourselves and we knew how to swim,” Jason pointed out.
“And he probably doesn’t have favourites,” you chimed in. You hummed in thought, ignoring the worried looks the two siblings were giving you. “But he doesn’t strike me as picking a favourite among his kids, unless he’s really good at hiding it. But no parent is that good at hiding that.”
“Have experience, do you?” Jason asked, you only hummed not wanting to elaborate. You aren’t sure how, but what was supposed to be a lighthearted conversation turned sour. You scrunched up your nose as a thought occurred to you. If it was this easy to talk to both Jason and Stephanie, you were afraid how the rest of his family would be. “Whatcha thinking about?”
“What you guys are having for breakfast,” you said instead of you voicing your thoughts.
“Ooh yes. I did come here for breakfast,” Stephanie said, as if she had forgotten the reason for being here. She turned to him and poked his cheek. “Make me pancakes with bacon and ham and eggs and everything.”
“How can you eat so much and not gain anything,” Jason grumbled as he moved off the couch and towards the kitchen. Stephanie shifted slightly so she was more centered to the camera.
“I work out,” she simply said with a shrug. Jason grumbled something, and since he was too far away you couldn’t hear what he said. “So, how’d you meet Jason anyways? Tim won’t say and Jason doesn’t want to talk about you when asked.”
“That’s because you pester me so much that I don’t want to talk about them,” Jason called, “and you don’t have to answer anything you want too, Y/N. Don’t let Stephanie bully you into answering questions.”
“It’s okay, Jason, I don’t mind. I know what it’s like to have siblings,” you said with a smile. “We met online. Started talking a few weeks back and haven’t stopped since.”
“Ah, you guys are still new,” Stephanie mused, “that means you can still back out before you guys get too serious.” You laughed at the same time Jason yelled hey! “Kidding, I’m kidding. I haven’t seen Jason happy in awhile. Please stick around, he’s more bearable when he’s happy.”
You watched as Jason stalked towards her, and plucked the phone from her. “If all you came here for was to make fun of me, you can go home without your food.”
“Noooo, Jason I’m sorry,” you heard Stephanie whine. And you couldn't be sure, but you saw Stephanie grovel a little bit on the floor. Although Stephanie couldn’t see Jason’s expression, you could and smiled at the little smile he shot you.
“Then go take a shower, you stink,” he said, and she was quick to race to the bathroom. “Your clothes are still here from last time!” he called and set the phone down so watch him as he prepared breakfast. “Sorry about her. I completely forgot she was coming over today.”
“No worries,” you dismissed, watching in awe as Jason cut up some vegetables with ease. “She was fun to talk to.”
“Prefer her over me, huh?”
“Nope. I like you more,” you said. “Where’d you learn how to cook?”
“Alfred taught me when I was young, and I kept going afterwards. Found it helped me when things got too stressed,” he explained. “Stress cooking is a lot healthier than other ways to deal.”
“I get that,” you mused, “I stress clean.”
“Nothing wrong with that,” he grunted. He stopped for a moment and looked towards you; eyes narrowed. “Did you have breakfast this morning?” You bit the top of your lip and avoided looking at him. “Y/N,” Jason said in warning.
“It was too early to eat!” you cracked, “I had a coffee and that was it.” Jason shook his head, going back to his food.
“I hope you eat something soon.”
“I packed some snacks. But they’re nothing compared to what you’re making for breakfast.”
“Well next time actually eat something or else I’ll just have to come over and cook for you.”
“That a threat?”
“No, more like a promise.”
“I’ll hold you to that,” you said with a smile.
“Stop flirting and cook me my food!” Stephanie yelled after the quickest shower you have ever seen someone take.
“So fucking demanding,” Jason grunted as you laughed.
“I should let you go so you can focus on the food instead of getting distracted,” you mused.
“But you’re the only kind of distraction I’d like,” he said, and you heard Stephanie gag. Laughing, you shook your head, trying to keep from blushing. “Okay maybe you’re right. Or otherwise, I’m going to throw Steph out the window.”
“Ha! I would like to see you try!”
Jason rolled his eyes and flicked them towards you. “Let me know when you’re there?”
“I can do that.”

Y/n Right He’s fine by they way, now he’s just recovering Doctors say they did what they could and he’ll be out of here in a couple of days
Jason Figured out what the surgery was about?
Y/N Nope and at this point I’m too afraid to ask
Jason Wow Why do you have regrets?
Y/n I don’t know how or why But somehow my sister figured out I was seeing someone Or at least talking to someone and kept pestering me until I told them I’ve been bamboozled
Jason Guess I’m not your dirty little secret anymore huh
Y/n Guess it wasn’t meant to be Oh well can’t be helped
Jason So now that your dads fine, you coming home?
Y/n No Somehow I have been convinced to stay the night and take the morning train in the morning Which sucks, I already bought my ticket for tonight

Jason But at least you get to spend time with your family

Jason When I said drive, I meant the loosely I’d take the train or fly Or I can drive us back I have a car too, you know

Jason I have a friend living there that I’ve been meaning to visit Plus we can go for breakfast tomorrow before making the trip back
Y/N Very tempting But ultimately I’m not going to tell you what to do It’d be your choice

jake’s perspective
“Yes! Please, anything but be stuck at a farm!” I begged that I jump up to the kennel door to try to get closer to her. She laughed and smiled softly… she was saving me from a stupid farm even though I gave her trouble and she said…
“Wait… but you said you couldn’t own a hybrid?” I asked and she smiled. “Well… I negotiated for myself like I was planning before I met you, and I negotiated for a companion. I don’t understand why you’ve never been adopted” she said sincerely and I felt like crying.
“Thank you… I'll be the best hybrid! I took classes and everything!” I said and she giggled while taking a piece of paper out of her bag. “Jake, a golden retriever hybrid with a lot of energy. A well-mannered hybrid that needs etiquette training but otherwise a lovely hybrid” she read while now showing me… it was the class file?
“I’ve been busy while they’ve been preparing you with checkups and vaccines… you wanna see what I’ve prepared?” She smiled and I nodded. “As long as I'm by your side,” I said and she giggled. “Well, Jake, you might get sick of me then. You’re stuck with me” she said but I shook my head.
“You’d get sick of me before I'd ever get sick of you” I confessed and felt sad at the thought… She hummed and pretended to think…
“Well, good thing we’ll never get sick of each other!”
“You’re the infamous Jake!” I heard and quickly hid behind y/n. Was this to punish me? “He’s not mad at you nor is he scary” she reassured but I didn’t want to believe her.
“It’s true in fact anything you did was nothing compared to the hell I would’ve faced married to her '' he said… marry? “We were gonna be arranged to marry by our parents, remember I mentioned negotiations?” she asked and I understood now… she ran away from him… technically her parents while he ran off to… japan?
“Oh, this reminds me! Riki and her owner mentioned if I saw you you owe him a new coat” he said and I sighed… I guess I did. “Don’t worry about that, I'll ship one to replace it” she reassured me and I nodded. She was… real, not a dream like I'd sometimes have.
“You already have an obsessed hybrid” he teased her and she scoffed. “You done? You’ve said your peace?” she asked and he nodded while putting his hand out to me… I shook it and he smiled. “See ya around Jake! It’s nice meeting you and don’t worry about it. The past is the past and I'm a free man again!” he joked before saying his goodbye.
“He’s a strange guy… you’ll meet a lot of strange friends of mine,” she said and I chuckled. “As long as I'm with you,” I said and she smiled. She looked at me with a sudden pout… she was so cute. “You need a haircut and maybe a fur trim? Want to do it now?” she asked and I chuckled.
“And be pampered by you, please?”
y/n’s perspective
The workers said because im his first and probably only owner in his life that he’ll be extremely attached. Not that I minded but… it worried me for what it would be like with sudden separation anxiety and getting used to etiquette.
There's no way I'd get rid of him now… we're stuck with each other but I don't need anyone telling him he needs to work for his place with me like they’ve done to Riki. My sweet puppy… he looked so happy and relaxed getting a haircut and trim.
I still needed to give him a collar. Luckily I was assured he’d most likely react well to it… and not badly since he doesn’t have any bad experiences since im his first owner. His first time enjoying life outside the hybrid facilities.
“He’ll be out shortly, miss' ' I heard and I nod as I stood up now waiting for him. When he did appear his hair was now shorter, not much of a difference but it should revive his hair to be more healthy and his puppy ears and tail were now neat.
He was a pretty hybrid… he was a pretty boy to me before too.
“I think I look pretty good,” he said and I chuckled. “You look very handsome,” I said and his cheeks flushed a bit before he recounted. “I-I wasn’t before” he teased and I smiled at his nervous stutter. “You were pretty but you look better and happier,” I said and he smiled.
“I’m lucky to have met you,” he said and I nodded. “It’s the same for me, Jake,” I said as we left the place and started walking back to my apartment “You’re now my priority okay?” I said and he smiled. “Thank you…” he said, looking hesitant and I sighed. “You know… I was wondering if you wanted to continue those classes?” I asked and he hummed.
“Well… I wanna see Niki again! So… I wouldn’t mind besides, you have classes there too right? I can keep myself from feeling bored when away from you” he said and I smiled.
He seemed to already understand that.
“Then do your best, okay Jake?”
jake’s perspective
It was… a dream come true. We ate a filling meal she ordered from her apartment when she showed me my room and the closet of clothes and my own comfy bed.
“I have one more thing to show you,” she said and I nodded before she gave me a box. It was the only thing she left for me to open? It had a bunch of packaging when I saw it… my own collar.
“It also comes with tail rings for your tail–” like Niki “–in case the collar bothers you, but I hope you like it and you don't need to wear it often just when we go places that require it like your class,” she said and I couldn’t help the grin on my face.
I would be going to class with a collar I'd be like those other hybrids…
I couldn’t help that I suddenly hugged her and I thought for a second I should have since I had to behave but when she laughed and hugged me back I immediately melted into her comfort.
“I hope you’re happy here with me,” she said and I smiled. “I’m really glad I met you, maybe it was fate that finally put us together,” I said and she smiled.
“I think so too”
I was enrolled in classes again so I'd have to start going to them again. The only bad thing is Niki is still in Japan so I was alone… “She’s your owner now huh?” heard as I saw the mean bird hybrid.
“I hope you enjoy it, she’s a bitch who doesn’t know how to do anything herself. She's constantly complaining and is gonna make you do so many stupid things just to humiliate you!” he yelled at me. Others were staring…
“She wouldn’t do that” I muttered and he scoffed, grabbing my shirt. “You’ve suddenly changed from rags to riches and think it doesn’t come for a price!” he said and I was confused… What did he know about her? From what I know he knows nothing about her.
“You know nothing about her… I knew you were hurt but, y/n would never do that” I said and his eyes widened… “y/n? Why are you suddenly mentioning her?” he asked, confused even loosening his grip letting me get away. “She adopted me… not like it's any of your business' ' I said and he sighed.
“Is the free trial bird causing you trouble? I would too if I suddenly lost everything and suddenly became a freeloading hybrid!” a snow leopard hybrid laughed and the bird scoffed.
“You shouldn’t be laughing... From what I heard your owner doesn’t even know–" "Shut up before I make sure this pretty little bird can't sing again” he threatened…
“Sore subject? I wouldn’t want to remember you either, Sunghoon”
Now that I had a collar many hybrids tried talking to me… it was strange.
Instead, I decided to sit next to a fox hybrid at the back of the class wanting to avoid Jay… but the fox hybrid didn’t look any better. Most of the hybrids in this room were spoiled and mean or… spoiled and depressed. It was a strange concept… the stray hybrids were also losing hope like I did.
It was cruel…
I went outside waiting for her… would she pick me up? It was when I noticed the fox hybrid, snow leopard, and bird were also waiting like me. “I’m sorry I'm late!” I heard and saw a girl with a patient wristband. “I forgot where this place was and–” “Whatever,” the snow leopard said with a sad expression on his face.
They walked off and I wondered what was his issue? “His owner is an amnesiac… everyone thinks he tried to kill her and she just forgot,” Jay said but why would he look at her with such a sad expression otherwise… “He’d never do that, they’ve been with each other since kids' ' the fox hybrid defended.
“What do you know Sunoo?” Jay asked and the fox hybrid stayed silent. “Jake!” I heard and saw y/n. “You’re late” I pout and she sighed. “It took me a while to actually get here from across campus,” she said and I nodded. “Hmm? Looks like you had company though?” she asked and I sighed.
“Not really,” I said as we walked off. When we were away from the lecture hall I decided to ask.
“Why was Sunghoon and Jay so mean?” I asked and she sighed. “Jay is a hybrid that many people get for free trial meaning they see what they like in a hybrid and what they don’t… but since he’s had so many owners and isn’t a ‘cute’ hybrid they give him away” she explained and I couldn’t imagine being in his situation.
“While Sunghoon is just… always been a troublemaker and recently with his owner being in such an accident to forget her memories he might just be a little heartbroken. There were rumors they loved each other…” she explained and it did seem like a heartbreaking experience.
“Give them a little patience okay?” she asked and I smiled. “I will,” I said and she nodded.
“Besides… you don’t have to worry about anything when you're with me”

“Are you sure she isn’t mad at me?” Buck asks for the fifth time as Eddie pulls over by his place.
It’s always a little strange, when Eddie drives them. Usually, if it’s the two of them, it’s Buck at the wheel. Eddie isn’t sure why it is —he doesn’t mind driving and does it well enough and often enough when he isn’t going somewhere with Buck— and he doesn’t know when it started. At some point, maybe around the big Earthquake a few years ago, Buck drove him somewhere for the first time and then they never stopped. He’s used to having him on his left, that’s all, and the switch throws him off a little… like when you flip a picture of yourself on your phone and get the angle others see of your face, rather than the one you know from the mirror, or when a married couple exchanges bed sides during a trip.
But Eddie had insisted on driving tonight. He didn’t want to spoil the surprise.
“I told you, Buck, it’s fine. The chief was joking. Mostly.”
“Mostly?”
Eddie sighs, dramatically, and rolls his eyes to drive the point home that Buck is worrying over nothing.
“I mean, she’s probably pissed that you outplayed her, but it’s a friendly game. I’m sure she didn’t take it personally.”
Buck’s mouth still twists unhappily and Eddie feels frustration raising in his chest. He’d been so close tonight to erasing that frown that has permanently settled into Buck’s expression. He’d gotten him to relax and smile and have fun like before. Why can’t he make it last?
“Buck,” he calls, with that tone that usually means ‘stop spiraling’ or ‘maybe not now’ or ‘we’ve talked about this’. It works perfectly, like always. He can see his best friend’s eyes snap back into focus as they find him. “Stop worrying, would you? It’s okay. I promise.”
And just like that, like Eddie’s words hold some unavoidable truth, Buck’s shoulders drop with relief.
“Fine, fine. Sorry, I just-“
“I know,” Eddie smiles.
He does. He knows how Buck can’t take people disliking him, or being mad at him, or possibly cutting him off. He’s learned in the past several years that Buck cannot fathom that he might mess up or piss someone off and that they won’t immediately leave him forever. As if Buck was easy to discard at the faintest fault.
“Listen, did you have fun?”
Buck blinks, confused. Eddie swears he could kill him sometimes.
“Buck, did you have fun tonight?”
“Uh, yeah…” a smile breaks across Buck’s face, a hint of that cocky confident smirk he’d had on all night. The sight of it warms Eddie’s chest.
“Good,” he nods. “That’s the point.”
“I thought the point was testing my new abilities,” Buck snorts, giving him a mocking suspicious squint.
“Oh, yeah, that too. But we’re gonna have to finesse your lying if we are taking this to Vegas because you can’t pretend worth shit and if we get caught there I think we’ll be in far more trouble than some nagging from the Chief.”
Buck barks a laugh, loud and cheerful, that finally eases Eddie’s own tensions and reminds him tonight was completely worth it.
“Yeah, I don’t think Bobby is going all the way to Vegas to bail us out.”
Now it’s Eddie’s turn to laugh. Though he’s pretty sure their Captain would come to their aid, at least for the pleasure of scolding them.
“Thanks, Eddie,” Buck sighs, still smiling. “I had fun tonight.”
“Me too.”
In fact, Eddie’s had more fun the past couple days than in the last two months. He’d nearly forgotten how much better it is at work and at home when Buck is around. He’d missed having his partner’s crazy antics and curious facts and earnest smile around. With Buck, Eddie felt like a version of himself he barely knew growing up. Somehow lighter, giddier, closer to his son’s sunshine disposition than his own.
Unaware of Eddie’s thoughts, Buck has taken their exchange as a goodbye and is gathering his cut (pun intended) of their winnings. They’d split them equally, even if they were technically all Buck’s. It was just something they did. He didn’t question it, neither of them did anymore.
“Hey, you wanna come in for one last beer?” Buck asks, clutching his half of the prize.
Funny enough, this is the question someone asks after a first date to invite people up for more than drinks. Funny enough, Buck has probably made this same offer to dozens of girls before. Funny enough, Eddie is tempted to say yes. It’d be so easy, such a normal thing for them to do, but still…
“I can’t,” he sighs, and tries not to think about the way Buck’s face drops. “I promised to help Pepa with her home renovations tomorrow morning and then we’ve got a long shift and Christopher somehow talked himself into bringing cookies for his entire class on Monday and I don’t even know when we’ll get to that, so I’m probably going to be baking tonight-“
“His whole class?!” Buck arches his eyebrows. “Eddie, that’s forty seven kids!” A fact that he probably knew even before lightning rewired his math skills. “Your oven can fit a sheet with maybe ten cookies at a time, twelve at most. With a cooking time of twelve minutes each, that’s gonna be-“
“Buck! Enough with the math, okay? I know. I know…”
He really does know. He knows it’s going to be a long night. He knows it’s going to suck. He also knows that it’s important for Christopher and that he should’ve gotten to it earlier on the week (but then the cookies wouldn’t be fresh and Chris had been very adamant about making a good impression with them).
Eddie wishes it was easier. He wishes he had enough time to do it all. He wishes he could manage everything, that he could be a single father and work a full time job and go out with his best friend some times and still manage to help his son with his school projects. It’s just too much sometimes. And he-
“I’ll do it.”
Eddie blinks out of his silent spiral to look at Buck, who seems entirely at ease with the statement like he isn’t saving Eddie’s life.
“What?”
“You know Bobby’s still got me working short shifts,” he shrugs. “I’ll be off early after our shift on Sunday. I can pick Chris up from Pepa’s and we’ll make the cookies at my place while you finish yours.”
Not for the first time tonight, Eddie’s chest feels like it’s about to burst with something embarrassingly close to adoration. He didn’t even ask, didn’t even say- but ever since they met, Buck has had a nearly supernatural ability to anticipate to Eddie’s needs, to be there when he didn’t even know how to ask for help.
“What would I ever do without you?” He sighs.
It’s a light statement. Something he’s said before between them when Buck makes life easier and happier just by being there. It’s also the wrong thing to say. There’s a heaviness to it that catches them both off guard. Because Eddie knows now what life might feel like without Buck. Three minutes and seventeen seconds without him. Three days of sleeplessness and terror. The overwhelming possibility that his absence would become permanent and stretch forever… And Buck, something flashes across his face too, something akin to pain and fear.
Fuck. Fuck he shouldn’t have said that. He cannot bare the thought of undoing tonight’s happiness with the wrong words.
“Thanks, Buck,” he adds, putting a hand on his shoulder that somehow manages to ground them both. “I’m sure Chris will love that.”
The smile that breaks through Buck’s face could light the whole night in a flash.
“Really? You think?”
“Are you kidding me? He loves any excuse to spend time with you. And he still claims your cooking is better than mine.”
It works. Buck laughs loudly and the tension dissipates like smoke clearing out after a fire.
“Claims,” Buck snorts dramatically. “It’s just facts, Diaz!”
“Uh-huh, sure, sure,” he teases back. “I’ll be the judge of that.”
“Is this your way of asking to save you cookies on Sunday?”
“Well, you could do that, or I could deprive some poor little kid of theirs and blame it on your lousy maths.”
Buck’s eyes sparkle with amusement as he gives Eddie’s shoulder a gentle push, breaking the invisible touch barrier between them for the second time tonight.
“I’m good at math now, Eds. You can’t say that!”
“Well, the kids don’t know that,” he chuckles.
Buck laughs. So Eddie laughs too, because it’s nearly impossible not to share on Buck’s joy (part of the reason he’s smiled tonight more than in the entire past two months combined).
“Okay, okay, gotta put these in the freezer before they thaw and Bobby kills me,” Buck sighs, opening the car door. “Rain check on that beer?”
“Rain check,” Eddie agrees, like it’s a promise.
Buck gifts him that golden smile in return and Eddie- well, his chest feels about to burst once more.
“Okay,” Buck says, closing the door with his bicep. “Get some rest, Eddie.”
“You too, human calculator.”
Buck laughs again, loud like thunder and bright like sunshine. Eddie carries that sound with him all the way to his house. He’s going to get quite a bit of ribbing from the Chief and Mehta next week, but tonight was definitely worth it.

YEAH THE DANCE WITH DEATH or OF DEATH
um i genuinely love this series i think the devs made a game not to "hype up" their main character which a lot of games and story telling does, but they made a game about changing and perspective and I respect them a lot for that. B/c these are just ppl trying to survive not superheroes or op characters. Not that there's anything wrong with stories like that i just think stories like that have gotten old.
So yes Ellie changes Abby changes but I still love the characters a lot , at times I wished Ellie stayed with Dina but I'm like maybe that's just what she needed to do to finally change/let go of the past and further more forgive Joel. It was heartbreaking to see Ellie leave Dina cause I loved their dynamic and how often does unrequited love work out lol. But I don't blame either one for their choices I was upset with Ellie but it is what it is. It makes me think like "yes this person has changed but they are still the person I knew. So do I want to keep them in my life or let them go" kinda thing.
And all power to the audience but I think ppls discourse of the game was a little biased. Everyone hated Abby which yes she killed Joel. (Oh yeah and everyone was being transphobic and homophobic in general) and then a lot of ppl were mad Ellie didn't kill Abby(this is just a lot of shit I saw ppl complain about when the story was first released) but no one really talked EVER about a lot of the symbolisms or "coincidences" that happen thru the game.
Like the switch blade and little Ottie the elephant(i think that's its name) symbolizing the innocence of a child and showing Ellie whos changed and had to kill over the years
Or the fact that Abby is shown in a Halloween store on the "Seattle day 1"(when showing Abby after Joel's death) reminding me of the left behind dlc and they play around in a Halloween store . Or the parallels of Owen and Abby's relationship to Ellie and Riley when they were younger. And one friend wanting to explore but the other is trying to go back home.
Ellie and Abby both having tank tops on during their final fights lol not that important but yah. There's more but that's all I can remember right now I gotta play the rest of this game on grounded I know I'm gonna get my ass kicked playing that shit. I ususally play on story mode cause I want to enjoy the story lol but sometimes I know I can play on normal I just don't be feeling like it.
I'd honestly give this series a 10/10 it was amazing to experience very heavy subjects and topics talked about mostly is revenge worth it or how much are u willing to change for it.
Also Abby being so caring for the two young Seraphites was so nice to see her being "motherly" and sweet to them but also gruff with the way she talked. And honestly I got a soft spot for Abby idk is it the muscles? Lol and I saw someone say Dina carried her relationship with Ellie I'd say "yes and no" I think they had a lot of "let's clear the air" but never did that b/c Ellie probably didn't want to talk about it and/ or they weren't ready to talk about it. And Ellie was trying so hard to act like nothing was wrong but it clearly was wrong. So yes they were happy together but couldn't let go. I said this already but Ellie was like a warrior that couldn't leave the battlefield cause that's all she was used to. But she didn't really "try" to be happy either. All the killing and murder and brain trauma I doubt a couple months would cure u of the fucked up shit. Trying to heal from trauma takes tim on e but she didn't really give herself that either .. so idk
Also I woke up to a pic of Ellie's leather strap shotty having 20 ppl interact with it so thank u I didn't think much of the post lol I did like the pic a lot tho. I think it's just tlou stuff is super popular either way thanks
This is a lil jokey joke but THEY HAD TO NERF ABBY JUST FOR THESE MFS TO EVEN STAND A CHANCE AGAISNST HER THAT IS SO FUNNY TO ME. ELLIE GOT A DAMN BLADE FIGHTINF A MALNURISHED ABBY BRUH. Lol Abby was just so cold and cool I loved her bruh. But on god if Dina had died cause of Ellie idk if I could've forgiven her character lmao.
Also please I don't care about shipping ship whoever u like I really don't care I don't want to see ppl arguing about ships please. I liked Dina and Ellie but that don't mean I wasn't sad for Jessie losing his girl he clearly still liked Dina lol. I'm just saying I'm very neutral when it comes to shipping characters don't argue with me argue with ya mama

Amnesia!Dabi & AtLA Todorokis
My tablet has decided to be finicky, so submitting this all in a big chunk-
1) AtLa Todorokis
(Assuming CC!Canon)
Toya just looking at Princess “I Must Please My Dad And Be The Best!” Azula, and going “oh, you’re in for a bad time.” Somehow, he and Azula end up sparring, and then screaming and sobbing all over each other.
Fuyumi and Rei being “dismissed” is less “Woman” and more that the Fire Nation is a very militaristic and power centred society, so the demure housewives get ignored. Jokes on them, by the end of the first week Rei has blackmail on every member of Ozai’s cabinet, and Fuyumi has the undying loyalty of most of his staff.
Natsuo is less “God, how primitive” and more “Ok, I get that you don’t have access to the same technology, but here’s how to make a very simple freezer so these medicines last longer”. Also “ok, I’m like … 80% sure that this plant is the same one where I’m from, in which case you should stop using it, and use this one instead, it’s less addictive”. Or, alternately, “Oh, so this plant does all this cool stuff, isn’t addictive, and grows like mad? Neat, how many seeds can I buy?”
Shoto takes one look at Zuko, decides “Ah, yes. This must be another version of me from an alternate reality.” Zuko … doesn’t really know what to do with that, but the kid seems alright, all things considered. Shoto also kind of … smacks Zuko in the face (metaphorically) cause part of the problem is that Zuko is surrounded by politicians and manipulative power-mongers. Everybody keeps talking around problems, or making Zuko second-guess himself, meanwhile Shoto “What Is A Filter?” Todoroki is like, “I get where you’re coming from, but that was a dick move.”
Enji is gritting his teeth the entire time, cause like. They’re in a strange place, they have to play by the rules until they figure out how to get home. But the more time he spends with Ozai, the more he wants to punt this smug bastard into the sun, and he has to keep reminding himself why that might be a bad idea.
Finally, Ozai decides to have Enji assassinated, cause the Fire Spirit and his family are causing all kinds of political problems. Only, of course, it fails pretty spectacularly, and since it involved using Azula as bait, she’s firmly against him now. Somehow, it ends with Zuko, Azula, Ty Lee, Mai, Shoto, Toya, Fuyumi, and Natsuo going on the run, while Enji and Rei team up with an escaping Iroh to wreck havoc and cover their retreat. The group run into the Gaang, and Zuko has to be like “So, firstly, Sorry for all the times I tried to kill you, secondly-”
At some point, Aang uses his “Spirit Medium” powers to try and connect with someone from the MHA world, ends up contacting Fumikage.
2) Amnesia!Dabi
I think I sent this ask already, but I am becoming increasingly attached to the idea that Amnesia!Dabi as an AU is one where, for whatever reason, escaping AfO is actually not that hard. Like, in order:
Dabi - literally walked out of the sketchy clinic he woke up in. He was coming out of a coma, covered in half-healed burns, and still fighting off some lingering sedation. Took 15 hours before anyone found out he dipped. He proceeded to “evade” AfO for the next 3 years, to the point the guy thought he was dead, and only knew otherwise when Dabi walked into the bar to join the LoV. Finds out Dabi was basically two streets over the whole time.
Himiko (and Dabi again) - during the smack down involved with Katsuki’s Great Escape, AfO somehow misses Dabi covering Kats’ retreat, and then fleeing with an injured Himiko. When they don’t show up again, everyone assumes they got caught or went to ground, and only manage to piece together any kind of idea what happened when a news story breaks about the Togas suing UA over Himiko. Then the news Dabi=Toya, and his memory loss. Given the publicity involved on both Himiko and Dabi, unless AfO wants to really blow the fact that him being in prison doesn’t mean much, he “decides” they aren’t worth it.
Magne - left shortly before the Toya=Dabi story broke, but after the Himiko court case got announced. Just … left. Decided this clearly wasn’t the kind of group she thought it was, told everyone goodbye, good luck, and left. Jin, Compress and Spinner still have her number. AfO is unaware she left at all until sometime after the League joins up with Overhaul.
Jin - managed to escape a facility that was SUPPOSED to be secure, while severely injured from a procedure that stole his Quirk. Managed to escape, get help, and lead a bunch of heroes to said facility, forcing AfO to abandon it. Is now under the protection of both Enji, and U.A., and when the HPSC try to get at him, Nezu “reveals” Jin’s the pioneer patient for a new program about “rehabbing” villains or something. Hero support skyrockets. HPSC support continues to down-swerve.
Compress - Undermines a fairly important operation to nab a powerful Quirk user, saves several heroes and adjacent from losing their Quirks, and even rescue the current holder of OfA. The resulting de-aging, turning Compress from 32 to 16, somehow ends up with “Mr. Compress” being “dead”, as teen him doesn’t remember being an adult! (I mean, my idea is he … kind of does? Like, general impressions, or big moments, he does remember. He knows he WAS an adult, and why he did what he did. But Eri’s Quirk went a little haywire, so for all intents and purposes, Compress is, indeed, 16 now.) Somehow, ends up adopted by Aizawa & Mic, cause Eri sees him as a big brother figure.
Kurogiri - K, so like. Originally, he got nabbed during some big operation, right? However, so much is different here, that AfO is just trying to get these guys to lay low. So, instead - bear with me - Kurogiri gets sighted during an outing for groceries, and during a scuffle, suffers a head injury that abruptly causes him to remember his time as Oboro, and forget/muddle much of his time as Kurogiri. Disoriented, he accidentally portals himself into Aizawa and Mic’s living room. Shenanigans ensue. Tomura and Spinner figure he got caught. However, they decide to tell AfO he straight up died. AfO, for some reason, decides “yeah, that checks out”.
Tomura & Spinner - so, my general idea for this is. AfO has decided that “if you want something done right, do it yourself”, and has used a combination of Overhauls’ Quirk plus some others to reconstruct his own body, and then with Jin’s Quirk, is going to make an army of himself. He also decides he’s going to yoink Tomura’s Quirk, cause Decay is pretty powerful, and then he’ll kill Tomura on live TV, telling the whole story about Nana & Yagi, and OfA, really hammer in the message that he’s awesome and all is lost. While this mostly goes to plan, he also ends up broadcasting Spinner decking him in the face, grabbing the de-Quirked Tenko, and escaping while calling him a “bitchass knock-off Palpatine wannabe motherfucker” on the way out. The boys get an unexpected assist from a nearby Hawks & Miruko, proceed to tell everyone everything they know about AfO’s plans.
Much later, after everything is settled, if this ends the way CC will, it takes a few weeks for Yoichi and AfO to have a proper conversation, because Yoichi just. Can’t stop laughing.

oh this is the cutest thing ever, i love dad!spencer so much, not matter which way he comes
"No! No! No!" Olive screams, karate-chopping the block tower she and Spencer have been working on over while she cries. "I'm not going to bed."
"Baby." You say, holding her hands and trying to calm her down. "I think you need a nap. Then when you wake up, we can go to the park afterward."
She pulls away from you, still angry. "No!" She yells one more time before running down the hallway and slamming her door shut.
You sigh as you sit back on the couch with Spencer, who just watched your daughter's tantrum. "I'm sorry." You apologize, an instinct engrained in your brain.
"I get it." He assures you. "Kids are like that."
"What, little assholes?" You joke, laughing to yourself. "I think her molars are coming through. I just really didn't want her ruining Sunday."
Spencer takes your hand, kissing the back of it. "She couldn't ruin anything." He reminds you. "Maybe just a structural marvel of a block tower." That gets you laughing and relieved he's not put off by the fact you have a kid. You always appreciate being retold that, even if he tells you often. "Can I go talk to her? Please?"
You're not about to turn down the gift of having someone else deal with her tantrum. "Go for it."
He even smiles as he leaves, and you couldn't be more delighted to have him as a boyfriend. Most guys would have bailed, but Spencer jumps at the opportunity to help you out.
"Hi." He knocks on her bedroom door. "Can I come in?"
"Fine." She agrees, pulling the door open before going to sit on her bed, so she's facing away from him. Just a simple act of defiance.
Spencer walks over to kneel in front of her. "Do you want to talk to me, petal?"
Her furious expression and furrowed eyebrows fade away quickly, and she starts sobbing again, reaching out to wrap her arms around his neck.
"Oh, hey, it's okay," Spencer assures her, standing up as she hugs him tightly to bounce her up and down.
She cries into his neck for a full minute, and he's surprised there are so many tears in her tiny body. When she's finished, he sits her back on the bed.
"'m sorry." She says, looking down at her lap.
"That's okay." He tells her. "You're allowed to have big feelings. Your teeth hurt, huh?"
She nods, still pouting, before opening her mouth to point at her back left molar. "Are you not mad that I broke our tower?"
"Not at all." He assures you. "We can remake it... maybe after you take a nap?"
"Will you read to me?" She asks shyly.
He gets up to pick out the book they were reading before lying on her bed. She settles down next to him, where she can see the pictures. "Let me rub it?" He offers, pressing his finger to her lips.
She nods sleepily, opening her mouth so he can gently circle the sore spot on her gums. She falls asleep quickly, a mix of being overtired, the relief from her teething pain, and being read to.
You venture down the hallway to make sure Spencer's still alive, and your heart melts when you see the two of them. He's not even reading anymore, just resting there with her while trying to soothe her pain.
"I can feel you staring, sweetheart." He informs you in a whisper, looking over at you.
You walk over to his side, bending down to kiss him. "I love you so much."
"I love you too." He tells you. "And this little angel."

People are falling for Alastor's BS
Allow me to explain.
Pretty much a person on TikTok believed that the reason Alastor fought Adam was to prove how powerful Alastor was since he could hold his own with Adam until Lucifer arrived. And I couldn't agree less.
The series makes it clear multiple times how powerful Alastor is, so it makes no sense to hammer it in. I believe it was the opposite, that it was to prove that Alastor isn't as powerful as he claims.
My main belief is that Lucifer was not meant to be there, why? Cause Charlie literally says "Alastor was supposed to handle him" in refrence to Adam. Lucifer was never meant to be there. Charlie is literally shocked when he arrives.
So did I make this whole post to bash on a random TikToker. No. It was to confront a problem I see in the Hazbin fandom and that is that a lot of people are taking Alastor to be the most powerful being in Hell. To the point that some people think he could win against Stolas or even Asmodeus.
In my opinion Alastor fits Hazbin Hotel to a T cause he's a Hazbin. He was ONCE one of the most powerful overlords but now he is washed up.
I'm gonna cut this off for people who want to scroll, but if you want to see all of my points, just do the thing.
But if you want to skip TLDR: Alastor has a superiorty complex
My point begins in "Radio killed the Video Star".
One we have the fact that Sir Pentious, a literal joke villain who is called pathetic constantly, managed to land a hit on him. If he had a power bordering the Seven Deadly Sins, that wouldn't be possible. Stolas managed to detect an imp sneaking up on him from behind. Alastor couldn't detect Sir Pentious grab his jacket when he was right in front of him.
But than we have Valentino's talk with Vox. Noteably how he says "Are you still mad he almost beat you that one time" key word "almost". Alastor didn't beat him. If you want to believe the idea that it was cause Alastor used to be friends with Vox, go ahead, but I don't. I believe he literally couldn't. He wasn't beat by Vox, but he didn't win either.
Than we have the song "Stayed Gone" itself. A lot of people in the comments praise Alastor for "tearing Vox apart" and "not even caring" but if Alastor didn't care. He wouldn't respond.
Alastor has aan Ego not confidence. And a fragile Ego at that.
Vox bashing Alastor was enough to make him begin broadcasting and ripping Vox apart. Even implying Vox shouldn't be feared cause his power comes from his connection to Val and Velvette. But in the end when he cuts the power in Pentagram City, he still feels the need to go to his demonic form and attempt to strike fear into the hearts of the other Sinners.
If he was confident in his abilities and powers, he wouldn't feel the need to remind people that they should fear him. He would simply mind his business and remind people when they mess with him. Not mock another person for just saying "he's a coward".
Than we have the distinct fact that he mocked Vox. Not attack him, he mocked him. We see with Husk that he has 0 problem killing people, but he doesn't do it. As if he knows he can't attack Vox directly.
My next point and the shortest comes with "Scrambled Eggs" specifically when he goes to the Overlord meeting. When Carmilla points out that Alastor had been gone for 7 years, he pretty much says "Oh I know. You must be so curious as to where I was" and Carmilla shuts that down. Alastor is noticeably offended that Carmilla doesn't care at all that he was gone. As if he's offended that she isn't interested at all about the fact that he left and is now back.
But in my opinion the episode with the most proof is "Dad beat Dad" when he meets Lucifer.
When they first meet and Lucifer calls him the Bellhop. Alastor ignores the comment and talks about his radio broadcast, as if fully expecting the King of Hell itself to have heard of him. And not only does Lucifer state he had never heard of him and even calls him a hazbin.
To me it seemed like Alastor seemed to immediantly try to subtly fish for a compliment. As if saying "I'm the one who came up with the name, I'm the one who deserves the praise" in which Lucifer tells him it's not clever. A comment that noticeably upsets Alastor abd causes him to cuss for the first time in the series.
This leads into "Hell's Greatest Dad", where Alastor is noticeably trying to one up Lucifer, that's the whole point of the song. But note that he never brings up his power, pretty much just saying "Well I was here first". And he gets aggressive when Lucifer keeps portraying himself as the better pick.
Only stopping when Mimzy appears. A character that pretty much kisses Alastor's ass, and makes him out to be one of the best people ever.
When Husk confronts Alastor about Mimzy, he pretty much says "he can handle whatever trouble Mimzy brings" and when Husk states that Alastor also made a contract and has his soul owned. Something that sets off Alastor so much that he threatens Husk's life.
Than when the loan sharks arrive he says that he needs to "remind people why they should fear the Radio Demon". As if upset that him simply being there, did not deter people from arriving. That they were fine fucking with the place Alastor lives if it means getting the money Mimzy owes them.
Then he cuts off Mimzy. As if upset that she purely arrived to use him as a sheild. And while he states that he's angry that she brought danger to the hotel, I don't believe that. Since he literally offers her a place to stay when she was described as pretty much being a trouble magnet. So it's weird to assume that he doesn't want her just dropping by but has no issue with her living there. I believe this was him attempting to have her show that she genuinely respects him and doesn't just view his reputation has a shield to get her out of trouble.
Pretty much, I believe that Alastor was poweful. That he was among the most powerful overlords, but now he's washed up, a hazbin. And he doesn't like that. He has a complex after all. He needs people to fear him, he needs people to view him as poweful.
That's why he breaks down after Adam beats him. He was just "killed" on live television. Live television just saw him "run with his tail between his legs" as the Vees put it. That's why he seems to be breaking down as he reads off a hypothetical headline calling him an "altruist" a person willing to die for his friends. As if upset at the thought that if he had died, people would stop fearing him. Cause he'd be seen as someone who died for the hotel, who died for his loved ones, who died for his friends. It breaks him.
I believe Season 2 will confront that fact. That all of the Pride Ring saw Alastor run from a fight. Something not even the "pathetic" Sir Pentious did. Not even Sir Pentious ran from the fight, but the "mighty" Radio Demon did. I believe the next season will have Alastor being taken down a notch.
Anyway there's my rant. Sorry if it's scattered, I tried to make it as straight forward as possible.

Oh god. Oh no. Oh fuck me no. This is going to end with Miss Dunbar marrying the Gold King in order to fix him, isn't it? Isn't it?
I hate everything about that.
No doubt she blamed this innocent lady for all those harsh dealings and unkind words with which her husband tried to repel her too demonstrative affection. Her first resolution was to end her own life. Her second was to do it in such a way as to involve her victim in a fate which was worse far than any sudden death could be.
So the guy abuses his possibly already mentally ill wife to a point where she considers suicide the only way out? And she blames the other woman completely and not her husband. And Miss Dunbar isn't exactly blameless, using the guy's crush on her to her own ends, however altruistic they may be.
Just a whole lot of nope.
"Well, Watson, we have helped a remarkable woman, and also a formidable man. Should they in the future join their forces, as seems not unlikely, the financial world may find that Mr. Neil Gibson has learned something in that schoolroom of sorrow where our earthly lessons are taught.”
Just no. Just no... That poor woman. And yeah, what she did sucked. But what the actual fuck. Fuck everyone, honestly. None of this ended well. I hate it all.
Happily ever after because the love of a good (~British~) woman will change him and make everything from now on sunflowers and daisy chains. And no thought to the children who lost their mother or the fact that abusive partners can't just be 'fixed' and he's absolutely going to abuse his next partner when she doesn't live up to his standards. They're just going to be in this horrific manipulative relationship and the children are going to be trapped with them.
No thank you. This is not what I ordered.
But I did appreciate Watson's revolver taking a bath. Nice moment of comedy in amongst all the nonsense.

After a silent walk to my dorm we walk through the threshold enjoying the cool air. Although we were both joking earlier, we weren’t exactly lying when we said it was hot. Unusual for late October day. I move to sit on the edge of my bed as Nathan sits at my desk that’s to the right of my bed. He looks around for a moment, much like how I did in his dorm. He hums, “Not a bad setup you got.” I look at him dumbly, my room isn’t anything special. I have some photos on the walls, some string lights, and my half assed attempt at an ‘aesthetic’. “I guess so, it’s nothing special really.”
He shrugs, “It suits you is all I’m saying.” I guess he’s right, ‘a mess’, but I smile at him regardless. “So, you gonna let me see those photos you were clambering all over me for, or what?” There’s a small smile tugging at his lips, but he doesn’t let it show. I forgot I was still holding his camera, so I handed it over to him bashfully, hoping he wouldn't judge my photos too hard. He takes it, immediately going through the photos, and after a moment he looks up. “These-” He sighs, “They aren’t half bad. You’ve got talent.” I smile to myself, taking the praise as it comes, who knows how long until Nathan switches his mood up. “Thanks, Nathan.”
He places the camera on my desk and spins around in my desk chair. “You got anything to do around here?” I look around for a moment knowing damn well that I in fact have nothing to do here. But my thoughts are interrupted by a knock on my door. We both rise to our feet, I’m sure for different reasons. Mine for opening the door, Nathan’s for probably getting ready to bolt in fear of being seen in my dorm.
I walk over to the door, and open it. On the other side stood the one and only Warren Graham. Suddenly I remember the flashdrive he told me about yesterday. “Oh, hey Warren!” I smile kindly at the boy. “Hey, Y/N/N! Was just dro-” His words cut off as his eyes drift to behind me. I turn slightly, to look. Nathan. Both the boys tense up, making me uneasy. I turn back around to Warren. “The flashdrive right?” I ask, trying to gain his attention. He looks back to me and leans in to speak quietly.
“You okay? He bothering you?” Oh, Warren. He’s sweet, but I don’t like that he immediately thought that I was in trouble just because Nathan is in my room. I go to brush off Warren’s concern but Nathan beats me to it, stepping forward a bit. “Oh, fuck you Graham! Do what you came to do and get the fuck out of our business!” I’m startled by his sudden outburst, unsure on what to do.
“Hey, I’m just trying to make sure she's okay.” Wow, Warren actually sounds pissed, never heard him like that before. Warren speaks again, “You know, since seeing an asshole like you in her room isn’t exactly a green flag.” He also steps forward, gently moving me out of his way. “What purpose are you serving right now? Everything was perfectly fine until your scrawny ass butted its way in.” Damn, Nathan. I have to stop this pissing fest before it goes too far.
I step in between them, pushing Warren back to the door. “Please, stop. You’re both acting like children.” Warren’s focus is now back on me, a look of concern taking over his face. “Sorry, Y/N/N. I just wanted to help.” I sigh, I’m not mad, but I can tell my face probably looks like it. “Thank you, Warren. But if I needed help I would’ve asked for it.” I smile a bit trying to convince him everything is okay. “Yeah!” Nathan shouts over my shoulder. I throw him a glare before turning back to Warren.
“Flashdrive right?” I remind him. “Uhm, yeah. Here you are.” He hands me the drive and I take it, shoving it in my pocket. “Great, thanks.” I smile now awkward at the tension. Warren backs up, “I’ll see you later?” I nod my head, “Definitely! Later!” I give a small wave and shut the door, pressing my back against it, letting out a big sigh. My gaze drifts up to Nathan, still glaring, but I ease up. I honestly feel bad for the Prescott.
“Sorry.” We both say simultaneously. We share a smile, and I walk back over to my bed and sit back down. I pat beside me, offering him a seat. He doesn’t decline the offer and takes a seat. “What are you sorry for, nerd?” He says looking down at his lap. I think for a moment. “I guess I’m just sorry about everything.” His head slightly turns, not completely facing me yet. Though I continue, “You know, for Warren’s behavior, for not stepping in sooner, for everyone’s misconceptions about you, for-” My words are cut short by Nathan’s head shooting up, an expression I can’t specifically describe painted on his face.
“What?” He says flatly. I take a deep breath, knowing that my next words may be too soon for him. “It’s just- I don’t know. It’s just, before yesterday, I thought about you the way everyone else thinks about you.” He flinches, clearly hiding the way my words stung. But I continue speaking. “But now? Being able to have an actual conversation with you, I’m realizing that most of those misconceptions aren’t true at all.” Now I’m the one looking down at my lap. There’s a beat of silence and I think I’ve fucked everything up before Nathan speaks up.
“Not many people do.” I blink, thinking he should be shouting. Thrashing around, storming out the door but not without a threat. But nope. Those are those damn misconceptions again. I don’t say anything, wanting to give him a chance to speak more. “Everyone thinks that I’m some kind of monster. Like I’m this walking tornado, and if you even breathe in my direction, I go off the rails.” He rubs his palms over his face, trying to stay calm. “No one ever cares how I feel, they only care about my last name.” I listen to his words, sadness bubbling in my chest. “I mean, I know I’m not normal. I’m fucked in the head. I know that. I have issues.” He’s holding back a sob, I can hear it in his voice.
“But my dad-” He sharply exhales. “I need therapy. Doctor said I have anger issues and a mild case of schizophrenia. They put me on a shitload of pills. They don’t do shit by the way.” My heart pangs at his words. Just wanting to help. “But my dad being my dad. He took me out of therapy. Said it was useless and that I was fine. He just wants me to be someone I’m not. But no matter what, around here, at Blackwell, whenever someone hears me express any of my issues, their reaction is always,’Ooo, boo hoo, poor little rich kid.’” He laughs bitterly, looking up, wiping his face of all emotion.
The air is still. “I just wish I could be normal.” He finishes. I finally look back up at him. He looks at me, and shakes his head. “Don’t give me that look.” He facepalms and grumbles a ‘fuck’ into his hands. “I’ve never told anyone that.” He breathes for a few seconds. “Fuck, man, I don’t even know you. This is crazy.” I rush to calm him. “Hey, it’s okay. I won’t tell anyone if that’s what you’re worried about.” He scoffs, “No, that’s not- It’s just I’ve never opened up to anyone. So why now open up to you? Some random ass girl I met yesterday.” He shakes his head in disbelief.
I chuckle. “Yeah, sometimes you find yourself doing things you can’t understand.” I look at him with a smile. “Like how I’m giving you a chance after 90% of what I hear about you tells me to do the complete opposite.” He looks at me, a smile cracking on his own lips. “I guess we’re both pretty stupid, huh?” My smile widens, “Yeah, I guess so.”

After Nathan opened up we both got a lot more comfortable. Especially Nathan. He asked what I was going to do after Blackwell, and I didn’t really have an answer. Turns out he doesn’t either really. We had a good laugh at that. I think I can see Nathan being a good friend, if he’ll allow it.
We spend hours talking about everything and nothing all at once. He allows me to open up, like he did previously. He’s a good listener. I see him laugh. Like genuinely laugh. He has a nice laugh. I find myself observing him just like I did the day before. He’s laying sideways on my bed, limbs sprawled out, hair a mess. Cheeks dusted with pink. Blue eyes shining with joy. It's a nice look for him. Being happy. It makes my heart thump out of order thinking that it’s me who’s caused this.
Although I never want this evening to end, it must. Nathan heads back to his room, and I’m left to my thoughts again. We’re planning to meet for the project tomorrow as well at his place. I find myself in that terrible predicament where I can’t stop thinking about him. Call me crazy, but I think I may have developed a small crush on Nathan Prescott.

A/N: Okay, you guys - we're headed to the finish line! After this I most likely will just post one more chapter as an epilogue of sorts. Thank you to all who have followed along!! I never expected this one to get this much love!!
Steve and Eddie saw each other for three days in a row over their first three dates. After that, neither of them wanted to break their streak.
Yeah. They were both totally obsessed with each other.
They didn’t go on dates every night, but they’d at least visit each other during breaks on days when they both worked. And they texted constantly. Eddie even joined in on Robin and Steve’s movie night, which apparently was a big deal. They’d only ever let one other person crash their movie night, a surrogate little brother figure of Steve’s who was friends with Will.
Steve still never pressed Eddie for more information about his past, which was great, but the weird thing was that Eddie actually wanted to tell Steve about his life.
That was a first.
It probably didn’t help that it was all on his mind from seeing Gareth and Chrissy over the weekend. Just a lot of reminders of what happened and what he left behind. He tried to remind himself of how he was happier now, and the new life he’d built for himself, but he still felt guilty.
So, when Chrissy showed up to Ink About It, Eddie wasn’t the least bit surprised, and he knew exactly what she wanted to know.
“Hey,” she said with a warm smile. “Do you have some time to squeeze me in?”
“Always,” Eddie replied, gesturing for her to join him in the office. “So, are we getting a tattoo today or just addressing the elephant in the room? Or, maybe you want a tattoo of a giant elephant in a room? Let me know and I’m at your service. I owe it to you, after all.”
He was rambling. He knew he was. But he was nervous and embarrassed and a ton of other things. The truth was, he’d loved Chrissy in high school. Like real, deep, meaningful love, and then he cut her off. He cut everyone off, but that was no excuse.
“I’m not mad at you, you know,” Chrissy said. The sentence made Eddie stop dead in his tracks and spin around to face her. “Not anymore, anyway.”
“That’s, uh, good,” Eddie stuttered. He was eased by the fact that Chrissy seemed a bit nervous, too.
“Well,” she said on an exhale. “You heard my side of things at the show. Your turn.”
Thank God the tattoo shop was dead. He didn’t have an appointment for another hour, and it was during their slowest time of day so he doubted anyone would walk in.
“Thanks for saying all that, by the way,” Eddie replied. “You could have made me sound like a real dick.”
The way that Chrissy had painted their whole relationship in a positive light was the only reason he’d been able to hold it together during and after the show. If she’d talked shit about him on that stage, he probably would have skipped town a second time due to humiliation.
But she didn’t do that.
“Yeah, well, lucky for you, I didn’t write the show when I was eighteen,” she teased. “Although there are some very angsty poems in a journal somewhere that I should probably burn.” Eddie laughed, then nodded in understanding.
“I have some….really angsty songs that have never seen the light of day,” he noted.
“Oh, I bet. The ones I did hear were already pretty scary,” she joked, laughing lightly.
Eddie used to play all of his original songs for her. Well, almost all of them. There was one he wrote about how he was pretty sure he liked men that he never got the chance to show her. In any case, the way she was still joking and being her familiar sweet self (as opposed to her badass, confident stage persona) made Eddie feel a bit more relaxed. He took a deep breath, noticing the way she was waiting for him to speak.

“I didn’t graduate, Chris,” he began. Her eyes went wide.
“What?! No, you - you did. We graduated together. You just didn’t go because you were sick.”
“I didn’t go because I got busted for selling and then was expelled,” Eddie admitted. “I was barely passing my classes anyway. Most of the teachers took pity on me just so I didn’t have to retake the year. But then uh - well, yeah. I got kicked out.”
“But I didn’t -” Chrissy was completely stunned. “I had no idea.”
“I didn’t tell anyone,” he replied.
He hadn’t. The only person that knew was his uncle. Wayne was the only family member that gave a shit about Eddie, so naturally he was Eddie’s phone call the day of the arrest. Wayne bailed him out and, next thing Eddie knew, he was in Hawkins.
“Anyway,” Eddie continued. “I was so embarrassed I just…left and didn’t look back. At the time I thought you were better off without me, honestly. You said it yourself - before you met me, you hadn’t even smoked before.”
“Before I met you I was -” Chrissy scoffed and shook her head, baffled. “I start the show talking about the day I met you for a reason. It’s because my life began that day, Eddie. You weren’t some bad influence that corrupted me, you were an escape from - from my shitty friends and my even shittier mom. And you were what sparked me to figure out who I was, and that’s special to me. You were my best friend. And you could have told me.”
Her final sentence stung, but it was a good kind of sting. His secret was finally on the table, and she was still there. She was still supporting him.
“I know that now,” he replied. “I’ve wanted to reach out for ages, but it felt like the more time that went by-”
“I understand,” she said, nodding. “I get it. It’s okay, I just - I missed you.”
Chrissy closed the gap between them and hugged him tightly, an embrace that Eddie quickly accepted.
“I missed you too,” he responded. They held each other for a few extended moments, then broke away, a tension off their shoulders. “Do you live here now?”
“For the time being,” she answered. “Argyle and I move around a lot. We just kind of point somewhere on a map and go.”
“Shit, and you ended up here?” Eddie asked, surprised. “That’s, like, a crazy coincidence.”
“Yeah, well Argyle always tells me that we end up exactly where we’re meant to go,” Chrissy responded, smiling.
“I like that guy,” Eddie said, nodding.
“Of course you do,” she teased. “You’re both weird stoners with awesome hair.” Eddie laughed, flattered at the compliment. He took a moment to look at her - the way she looked just as she did, but so different at the same time. More laugh lines in her face, for one. Her hair was shinier and fuller. There was more color to her skin. Eddie wondered if that was what happiness looked like.
“Just so we’re clear,” Eddie said, needing to say one last thing before they moved on. “What you said about me on stage the other day -” He didn’t need to specify. Chrissy spoke about their relationship fondly and candidly. “It was the same for me.”
“I know,” she replied, smiling more brightly now. “Okay! So, we finally got that out of the way.”
“Finally,” Eddie echoed. “Now what?”
“Now,” she started, “we talk about your boyfriend and his ridiculously hot friend.”
Eddie chuckled, then nodded.
“Okay, well first of all, he’s not my boyfriend.” Chrissy eyed him, knowingly, which he chose to ignore.
“Whatever,” Chrissy dismissed. “Figures we’re both queer, by the way. I love that for us.”
“They say we travel in packs,” Eddie joked. Chrissy nodded in agreement. “Anyway, Robin’s awesome. Have you gone out with her yet?”
“Tonight!” Chrissy responded. “And I’m very excited. That’s another reason I came here. I wanted to clear the air in case you come up in conversation, because it seems like anything I tell her will just go straight to your boyfriend -”
“Not my boyfriend,” Eddie reminded her, smirking.
“Why not? I saw the way you look at each other,” Chrissy noted.
“Because it’s only been a few weeks,” Eddie pointed out.
“And?” she prodded.
“It’s too soon,” Eddie insisted, pretending to scratch at a spot on his cheek to hide the blush creeping up his face. “Moving on.”
“Moving on,” Chrissy replied with a smug grin.
She stuck around the tattoo shop to catch up until his next appointment, and it felt a lot like old times. Eddie thought for the longest time he’d burned every bridge from his hometown, but recently he’d learned that he’d left the water underneath unscathed.
Who needed a bridge when Chrissy and Gareth could swim?

Steve worked at a literal flower shop, and yet he was just starting to truly understand the expression, ‘stop and smell the roses.’
He was in total bliss. Things with Eddie were great. It had been a long time since Steve had felt such an easy connection with someone. They clicked on pretty much every level. And, best of all, Eddie got along with Robin too. If she approved of him, that basically meant - well, it was a big deal.
So, he felt lighter at work now. He was better at handling customers. He started to memorize the things Robin used to constantly have to remind him of. Being around plants all day almost made him feel high - like the air was better or something. Actually, Steve wasn’t the most academic guy, but he was pretty sure being around plants and flowers all day did give him a better oxygen supply. He kept telling himself to ask Robin or Google it, but then he’d get distracted thinking about Eddie.
The joys of the honeymoon phase.
It was the night that Robin was going to go out with Chrissy for the first time. She was, naturally, a ball of nerves, but in a good way. Steve had high hopes for their date.
“You are way too happy lately,” Robin told him. “It’s spooky.”
“Yeah, well -” Steve began, stumbling on a response. “Get used to it.”
He sent her off, and then checked his phone.
Eddie: Can I stop by?
Okay, normally that kind of text would send Steve into blind panic, but he tried to remain optimistic. This could be a nice surprise visit, not a devastating one. He sat in the silent apartment for approximately 30 seconds before the overthinking began.
The last time he’d seen Eddie, everything was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. Although, Steve had never been the most observant. He wracked his brain going over their last interactions to see if he’d maybe missed something.
Oh, shit. Never mind, he was for sure panicking.
Steve: Of course! Robin left so it’s just us 🙂 ETA?
Eddie: On my way now, see you soon!
Well, at least he was using punctuation. Although, that didn’t mean anything necessarily. Steve had been dumped a few times, and -
No, come on. He was not about to get dumped. They weren’t even officially together, so an in-person visit to end things wouldn’t make sense.
This was fine. Everything was fine.
The door opened ten minutes later. Thank god.
“Hey,” Eddie greeted as he walked in. He seemed a little nervous, but not upset. “How was your day?”
If he was going to break up with Steve, he wouldn’t have bothered with the pleasantries, right?
“It was good, how was yours?” Steve asked, doing his best impression of a Chill Person™.
“Chrissy stopped by the shop today,” Eddie began. “And we just - I hadn’t talked to her in so long, and it was really nice.”
Steve let out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding in.
“That does sound nice,” he replied.
“Listen, Steve, I -” Eddie shifted his weight back and forth on his feet. “There’s a lot about my life I don’t talk about. Like, from before I moved here. I hadn’t told anybody about it until today, actually.”
“Dude, were you in the mob or something?” Steve asked, completely lost. “Just tell me what’s going on before I burst.”
“Wait, why are you nervous?” Eddie wondered.
“Uhh, because you sent me an ominous text message asking if you could ‘stop by’ and you’re taking for-goddamn-ever in telling me why,” Steve joked. Eddie literally facepalmed.
“Oh, Jesus Christ. You’re right, my bad.” Steve chuckled in relief. “No, it’s not - that’s not why I came over, trust me.”
“Okay, cool.” Steve waited for Eddie to continue. “So?”
“I just - I feel like I have to tell you something.”
“Okay, now you’re doing the ominous thing again,” Steve said, rolling his eyes playfully. “Come on, talk to me.”
“I was arrested when I was eighteen for selling drugs to minors,” Eddie blurted out. His eyes went wide, as if he hadn’t expected the words to actually come out. “I mean, to high school students. And it was just weed, by the way.” Steve crossed his arms, waiting for more.
“Okay,” he said, relatively unfazed.
“You’re not - wait, why aren’t you judging me?”
“Because I bought weed all the time in high school. That’s not much different.”
“I mean, it’s a little different,” Eddie argued. “But okay. Well I - I never graduated high school, either. I don’t have a diploma.”
“Okay,” Steve repeated. “Do you need one?”
“I - well, no, but - what are you - how do - but - I -”
“Okay, woah,” Steve said, chuckling. He walked to Eddie and put a hand on each side of him. “You know I was a mess when I was a teenager too, right? I already told you about some of the shit I got into. I also started a lot of fights - and I lost all of them, by the way. I’m pretty sure if I get one more concussion I’ll die. And I have a diploma, but I didn’t get into any colleges -”
“You mean you don’t care about anything I just told you?” Eddie asked, confused. “You don’t think of me any differently?”
“What? No, why would I?” Steve answered casually. “I used to be a total asshole, and I should have gotten a lot worse than I did. I was just lucky and rich, that’s all.”
“You were rich?” Steve chuckled.
“Yeah, past tense,” he clarified. “I was such an asshole that my parents disowned me the second I turned eighteen.”
“Shit,” Eddie said, exhaling. Steve’s hands slid down Eddie’s arms to his hands, fingers interlocking.
“I don’t care about that stuff,” Steve assured him. “You don’t still sell drugs, right?”
“No,” Eddie replied, shaking his head.
“Just like I’m not an asshole anymore,” Steve continued. “Right?”
“You’re the nicest person I’ve ever met, I think,” Eddie responded quickly. Once again, he seemed alarmed at what he was saying.
“That sounds…impossible,” Steve teased, leaning in to kiss Eddie gently on the cheek. “But I’ll take it.”
Eddie could literally feel his heart warming in his chest. He’d spent years holding all of this inside, and carrying so much shame within him. But he’d gotten forgiveness from Chrissy, and Steve was entirely unbothered.
Steve - the Flower Boy who took Eddie completely by surprise in the best way. He’d never imagined falling so hard for a guy like him, yet here he was. It was like what Argyle apparently said - we all end up where we’re meant to go.
Eddie fully intended on befriending Argyle next, by the way.
“Hey, Steve?” Eddie whispered, their foreheads pressed together.
“Yeah?”
“You wanna be my boyfriend?”
He didn’t plan on asking this particular night. As he’d told Chrissy, they hadn’t been dating very long, and it was still early. But Eddie was on a roll, and the moment felt right.
Steve smiled, confirming that he felt it, too.
“Yeah, I’d love to be your boyfriend.”
